Als Gerücht geisterten deutsche Filme im iTunes Store schon seit mehreren Monaten umher, nun sind sie auch tatsächlich verfügbar: Am Mittwoch Abend waren erste Filme im iTunes Store zu finden - bislang jedoch nur per gezielter Suche. Eine eigene Kategorie, die ähnlich wie das Podcast-Verzeichnis

We are just going to pull a quote from a Beyond 3D forum that we find quite interesting and let you all draw your own conclusions. We've covered the iPhone 3 processor race in more detail here.
With regard to the [iPhone] processor, I see Samsung have rather QUIETLY released a Cortex A8 App Processor , the S5PC100. Doing a google returns a grand total of 10 hits. There has been no press release for the product that I can find, and none of the tech websites have discussed it. It is not listed AT ALL under the app processor section of their website:-

E*Trade planning iPhone app for May?
E*Trade is in the process of developing an iPhone app, anonymous sources claim. The app from the online investment service is allegedly in a "very secret" beta stage, and should give E*Trade subscribers the ability to order, switch or cancel trades. EzGear launches video cable for iPhone, iPod
EzGear had launched a new video cable for iPods and iPhones. The cable makes use of Appleís authentication chip, giving users the ability to play content from their handheld on any display. Lange hat es gedauert, nun tauchen erste Spielfilme im iTunes Store auf - noch sind es vereinzelte Exemplare, die man über diesen Link erreichen kann. Die Detailseiten fehlen allerdings noch, ebenso wie ein direkter Link im iTunes Store. Eine Suche nach Einzeltitel führt aber ebenso zum Erfolg, die Filme lassen sich auch in den Einkaufswagen

Engadget goes legs-on with Honda's walking-assist devices (with video!)
Team Engadget got a chance to go fully legs (and crotch) on with Honda's latest nutty invention -- the walking-assist line of robo legs. There are currently two models the company is testing, one which helps with correct stride and assistance for forward movement, and the other which is meant for supporting your weight while doing tasks that require lots of bending at the knee. Erste Anzeichen für Filme im deutschen iTunes Store gab es schon länger, jetzt sind sie da. Die Filme lassen sich nicht über die Startseite des iTunes Store finden, sondern nur über die Suche. Verfügbar sind unter anderem diverse Pixar-Animationsfilme und moderne Klassiker wie Fluch der Karibik oder Pearl Harbor.

Mercedes shows off Splitview display, other dashboard perks in the 2010 S-Class
Sure, the cold metal exterior looks like a regular old car, but the 2010 S-Class from Mercedes-Benz has a fuzzy technological heart, including an abundance of readout displays and a Splitview screen. Quite like it sounds, the Splitview display offers up one view to the driver (like a map), while the passenger sees a completely different image (like a movie, or a picture of somebody looking at a map), and after hearing all about it for the past while, Mercedes is actually giving us a glimpse of it in an overly-dramatic promo video for the latest S-Class to clutter up the roads. Erste Spielfilme im deutschen iTunes Store
Lange erwartet scheint es endlich soweit: Im deutschen iTunes Store tauchen die ersten Spielfilme auf. Bislang nur über über die Suche lassen sich diverse deutschsprachige Spielfilme zum Preis von jeweils 13,99 Euro finden. Unser erster Testkauf (Ratatouille) ging problemlos von statten, der Download hat eine Größe von 1,91 GB.
Wir gehen davon aus, dass das Angebot in den nächsten Stunden komplettiert wird und dann auch die separate Kategorie im Store erscheint. Bislang erst einmal vielen Dank für eure Mails!

Im amerikanischen iTunes Store hat sich das Filmangebot fest etabliert. Ob man Filme kaufen oder nur ausleihen möchte, das Angebot ist groß. Soeben erreichte uns eine interessante E-Mail eines Lesers. Der Inhalt: Ein einfacher Link in den iTunes Store. Tatsächlich führt der uns genannte Verweis in eine Liste mit Suchergebnissen, in der eine Handvoll an Kauffilmen aus diversen Disney-Studios aufgeführt sind. It's kind of strange that the most anticipated sample media from the latest crop of DSLRs is actually HD video, but that's the way the market's going, and the new Canon EOS Rebel T1i and Nikon D5000 are no exception. Aware launches A-View netbook with detachable screen, for $150?
Details are a bit light on this one, but Taiwan's Aware Electronics looks to have taken advantage of the now-happening Global Sources trade show to introduce a new netbook with a fairly significant surprise up its sleeve: a detachable screen. Other than that, about the only thing known about the netbook is that it'll come equipped with just 512MB of RAM, an 8GB SSD, and your choice of Windows or Linux for an OS. We haven't heard much about the appearance of the HTC Touch Diamond2 on US shores apart from a few AT&T-related whispers, but the squared-off handset is starting to pop up overseas, and the requisite unboxings and video tours have started flooding in. iRobot says its Warrior bot is more human than ASIMO
Is a humanoid robot inherently more human than your average task-specific bot? iRobot apparently doesn't think so, and it's taken square aim at one of the most popular humanoid bots around to make its point. NIN Fan iPhone application goes live
For those of you who are big Nine Inch Nail fans, one of the most eagerly anticipated (by some) iPhone applications is now at the iTunes Store. While NIN fan doesn't apply to us, we've been hearing a lot of sentiment that all bands should have an application like this.
It wouldn't be too hard for a record label to either buy or replicate this app's functionality and distribute it with their bands' music and other paraphernalia. Yeah, we're sure the record labels will get right on that.

Solaren Corp to supply California with space-based solar power
After JAXA's announcement of space-based solar power for Japan, we've been keeping our eyes peeled for some news of similar projects Stateside. Intel meldet Umsatz- und Gewinneinbruch im ersten Quartal
Intel hat seine Geschäftszahlen für das erste Quartal 2009 veröffentlicht. Das Unternehmen erwirtschaftete in diesem Zeitraum einen Umsatz von 7,15 Milliarden Dollar, was einem Rückgang von 13 Prozent im Vergleich zum Vorquartal entspricht. Im Vergleich zum Vorjahresquartal schrumpfte der Umsatz sogar um 26 Prozent (9,67 Milliarden Dollar).

Retail traffic shows lower iPhone, higher Mac sales
Recent monitoring of 25 hours of foot traffic at Apple Stores may suggest some unexpected figures for Apple's Q2 2009 results, claims Piper Jaffray. Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 wird nächste Woche veröffentlicht

AT&T möchte weiterhin alleiniger iPhone-Provider bleiben
In knapp zweieinhalb Monaten werden die ersten Zwei-Jahres-iPhone-Verträge auslaufen und auch der Vertrag zwischen dem größten US-amerikanischen Mobilfunkprovider AT&T und Apple muss neu verhandelt werden. Skype-App sperrt iPhone-Geräte mit Jailbreak aus
Seit kurzem ist Skype in der Version 1.0.2 erhältlich (iTunes-Link), für iPhones mit Jailbreak bedeutet dies aber vielleicht bald das Ende der Voice-over-IP-Telefonie. iPhones mit Jailbreak und OS 2.2 zeigen beim Start von Skype 1.0.2 eine Warnmeldung, die App würde nur mit einem unmodifizierten OS arbeiten. Torrent's SureConnect HDMI cables stay put with magnets, blink with madness
While we love the transmission capabilities of HDMI, we loath the fact that the HDMI standard doesn't specify a locking mechanism. If you've ever wall mounted a flat screen TV or tried to stuff your receiver into too tight a rack then you're probably familiar with HDMI's weak-azz connector. Now we have what appears to be a first of its kind, magnetic HDMI connector from Torrent, Inc. -- at least its the first to pass ATC compliance testing. Called MagLoc, the magnetic connector with sliding sleeve for optimal fit is said to be 5x stronger than your typical HDMI cable connector. The performance gain in sequential and random writing mode is really significant, moving in average from 58 MB/S to 80 MB/s. Of course, such figures are rather low when compared to other more recent SSD models usually reaching 200 MB/s in writing mode. For those of you who are big Nine Inch Nail fans, one of the most eagerly anticipated (by some) iPhone applications is now at the iTunes Store. While NIN fan doesn't apply to us, we've been hearing a lot of sentiment that all bands should have an application like this.
It wouldn't be too hard for a record label to either buy or replicate this app's functionality and distribute it with their bands' music and other paraphernalia. Yeah, we're sure the record labels will get right on that.

Apple offers updates for iMovie to version 8.0.2; this corrects a bug connected to the corruption of projects and a problem of passing to full screen; and for Aperture that becomes version 2.1.3 which should improve its stability and improves the compatibility of its data base with certain types of files.

First non-Apple Mini DisplayPort Display
The company Cinemaview announced the future availability (September 2009) of 16:9 LCD display featuring a Mini DisplayPort, currently found only on Apple hardware.
Regarding the design, they did not really release a groundbreaking model, it is quite similar to the recently launched Apple 24" LED Cinema Display. Three different models will be available:
19" with 1440x900 for 299 USD
21" with 1680x1050 for 399 USD
24" with 1920x1080 for 499 USD
If they did not feature a MagSafe connector and use a simple mini jack for the sound, the much lower price should seduce many MacBook owners not ready to purchase the expensive 24" LED Apple Cinema display. New Intel Firmware for X25-M Significantly Boost Performance
Red Alert, one of our forum members, performed a test on his X25-M before and after applying the new firmware:
The performance gain in sequential and random writing mode is really significant, moving in average from 58 MB/S to 80 MB/s. Of course, such figures are rather low when compared to other more recent SSD models usually reaching 200 MB/s in writing mode. However, the Intel X25-M remains the reference unit for performance level when dealing with multiple small files. This firmware update illustrates the potential of improvement for such storage unit.

NYC cabbies could have cellphone use blocked while driving... but probably not
The Taxi and Limousine Commission of New York City (also known as the TLC) is considering some changes to the way that taxis and their drivers will operate in the future as part of its "Taxicab Passenger Enhancement Program." Among the wild ideas being floated is one that would "block" anyone in the front seat from using a cellphone -- most notably, of course -- the driver. Driving while using a handset is already illegal in New York, but this measure would apparently kill the ability to use a hands-free device as well. Balloon Headed Boy, des iPhones Kirby?!
Die Aufmachung der Website des Ballon-Kopfs, Screenshots und Trailer hatten mich neugierig gemacht. Irgendwie erinnerte mich das rosa Bubblegum-Männchen an Kirby, dem ich schon vor Jahren auf Nintendo-Konsolen und -Handhelds begegnet bin.
Der Protagonist des Spiels ist schon eine Weile vorher in Erscheinung getreten. Denn Balloon Headed Boy von Playora ist bereits als Flashgame zum

Intel Q1 income down 55%, Atom sales drop
Intel on Tuesday reported its first-quarter financial information, showing a 55-percent drop in income while revenue slid 26-percent to $7.1 billion year-over-year. The company also experienced a drop in gross margin from 53 percent last year to 45.6 percent this year, explained by higher factory-underutilization charges and startup costs.
