Microsoft's Zune HD shipping on September 5th?
Look, we fully understand that September 5th is a long ways out, but don't think for a second that Microsoft isn't inking every last detail of its Zune HD launch in stone. That said, Windows expert and all-around good guy Paul Thurrott has been "told" that this very player will ship exactly on the fifth day of the ninth month of this year. We know the Mini 1101 is the more business-centric of the new HP netbooks, but unless the company has a sudden change of heart, it looks like you'll be getting the base configuration or nothing at all. Neues iPhone: 15. Juni wird immer wahrscheinlicher
Der 15. Juni wird als Starttermin für die nächste iPhone-Generation immer wahrscheinlicher. Nachdem eine Urlaubssperre bei T-Mobile die ersten Spekulationen um diesen Termin aufkommen ließ, haben wir jetzt vertrauenswürdige Informationen dahingehend erhalten, dass bei verschiedenen Mediamarkt-Filialen bereits die gewünschten Stückzahlen für ein "IPHONE 4G" abgefragt werden. Als voraussichtlicher Termin für die Markteinführung wird KW 25, also die Woche ab dem 15. Juni genannt.
Licht ins Dunkel bringt aller Voraussicht nach die Keynote zur Apple-Entwicklerkonferenz WWDC am 8. Juni. Selbst wenn die neue iPhone-Generation dort nicht vorgestellt wird, dürfen wir zu diesem Termin genaue Infos zum von Apple aufgestellten Zeitplan erwarten. Wir werden am 8. Juni ab 18 Uhr einen Live-Ticker mit allen Infos aus San Francisco fahren.

IDT to swap solar cells into LCDs, but not for energy reasons

Sadly, that's not at all what Integrated Digital Technologies is aiming to improve upon next week at Computex, though we still find its approach to trimming LCD weight and manufacturing costs an interesting one. Mal wieder in Asien hat man das für Juni erwartete neue iPhone als erstes angeblich in die Finger bekommen und einem ersten Test unterzogen. Im Vordergrund der veröffentlichten Bilderstrecke stehen allerdings die neuen Funktionen unter iPhone OS 3.0, nicht aber das Äußere. Denn bei dem Testgerät handelte es sich angeblich um einen Prototypen, dessen Design sich noch ändern könne. Remember when those slim PS3 shots came out and skeptics bemoaned the missing "spiderman font" as proof of mischief? Das als ernstzunehmender "iPhone-Killer" gehandelte Smartphone Palm Pre hat vor allem eins, das andere nicht haben: Wie in der vergangenen Woche bekannt wurde, ist das System mit Mac OS X kompatibel und kann sogar mit iTunes synchronisiert werden. Nikkei: Nintendo's Wii Fit plus coming to make weight loss competitive, Internet fun
Wii Fit not cutting the fat fast enough? Don't sweat it, the house of Mario is getting ready to make your weight loss competitive. According to Japan's Nikkei business daily, Nintendo will be launching its Wii Fit plus in autumn that will let users compete with friends and family over the Internet to "lose weight and other activities" -- the latter presumably hinting at cruel taunting Miis with the ability to point and laugh at the fatties. NVIDIA GPU resurrected after 10 minutes at 425°F

Microsoft removes 3-app limit from Windows 7
Microsoft late yesterday confirmed that the final version of Windows 7 Starter Edition will not be limited to opening three applications at a time. This follows claims by observer and author Paul Thurrott, that the limit would be removed, though it doesn't appear to include allow changing wallpapers. The change is intended to improve the flexibility of netbooks, the company says.

Mac OS X 10.5: Photo Booth-Effekte im Adressbuch nutzen
Einige Anwender werden die Möglichkeit innerhalb des Adressbuches bereits kennen, die beliebten Verfremdungen (die den ein oder anderen Apple-User bereits dazu inspiriert haben mag, über die oftmals eingebaute iSight-Kamera mehrere tausend Selbstporträts geschossen zu haben) seitens Photo Booth für die den Kontakten zugeordneten Bildern zu nutzen, doch möchten wir unseren “neuen” Mac-Usern diese nette Möglichkeit nicht vorenthalten.
Um ein bestehendes Bild im Adressbuch zu verfremden, geht man wie folgt vor:
1. Im Adressbuch einen zu bearbeitenden Kontakt heraussuchen
