We know from countless encounters with our dear, dear friends at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group that their certifications aren't as shall we say, "detailed" as their counterparts at the FCC; frequently, we don't even bother with them because there's simply nothing there to talk about. Dell Adamo torn to shreds for science and bragging rights
The fine folks at iFixit and TechRepublic have teamed up to show us the innards of Dell's new thin-and-sort-of-light ultraportable Adamo. They also set the laptop up against Apple's MacBook Air to compare build quality and specifics. For instance, the Adamo packs a 11.1 volt 40 Watt hour battery, compared to the Air's 7.2 volt 37 Watt hour battery, and comprises a greater percentage of the weight of the computer than its Air counterpart -- who knew? Overall the Adamo seems to pack a good amount more technology into a slightly heavier package, and takes a small win over the MacBook for nixing the screws on the bottom, not to mention the huge win over its Windo

Bluetooth 3.0 steht vor der Tür

While we've kinda fallen off of the NIN bandwagon since Pretty Hate Machine was popular (truth be told), we have to admire Trent Reznor as a pioneer of the digital music revolution. He's been at the forefront of selling his music online and DRM free for mixing/enjoyment since Napster was the preferred method of downloading tracks.
His latest project is a new app that pledges to bring the NIN.com social networking experience to iPod touch and iPhone. Here he is explaining the thought behind it (thanks Jonny) with a special guest appearance:

Sony patents PSP-controlled spy car

Microsoft und Yahoo bändeln doch wieder an
Sie können nicht mit, aber offensichtlich auch nicht ohne einander: Nachdem die Übernahmeverhandlungen zwischen Microsoft und Internetriesen Yahoo im vergangenen Jahr in einen Rosenkrieg ausarteten und unverrichteter Dinge scheiterten, nähern sich die beiden nun doch wieder an. Allerdings ging es in den Gesprächen zwischen Microsoft-CEO Steve Ballmer und Yahoo-Chefin Carol Bartz nicht zwingend um eine Übernahme. The Mac Pro 2009 will support non ECC memory

A small message to let you know that I have just received my new MacPro Nahelem Quad 2,66 GHz. I have just tested a set of 3 memory card 2GB OCZ DDR3 PC10600 (FSB of 1333 MHz) NON-ECC. The machine accepted them without a problem. They are recognized as 1066 MHz, the absence of ECC does not create any problem.
Being surprised that this memory functions, we asked him to make a hardware test on his machine. It ran in a normal way without posting any errors. Even though this makes it possible to find less expensive memory, we strongly advise you to use ECC memory that avoids the small risks of hanging related to a corruption of the data on a card.

Bandai's Project A.i.R. is a $525 blue grid that blows up
Okay Bandai, we get it. After over 50 years of making cheap toys and video games you want to show the world you can make overpriced stuff too. As if your $2,200 Ginza diorama wasn't enough of a statement, now you're producing a $525 box that lights up and blinks like a miniaturized monochrome disco floor. ZuneHD to take on iPod touch
Engadget got a peak at wha tis likely the new ZuneHD. So how will this thing compete with the iPod touch? We're assuming it will be cheaper than the iPod touch, it will likely have a higher pixel count. It looks more 16:9ish than the iPod's 3:2 ratio.

D'oh! Record companies losing sales on $1.29 pricing
maybe not losing money overall, but losing sales, which drops them down the chart, which, in turn, loses more money. Billboard, (via Giz) is reporting that songs that got jacked to $1.29 are seeing significant decrease in sales in just two days of higher prices. At the moment, it appears that the price increases overshadow the loss of sales so there is stil la positive revenue movement for $1.29 songsbut thats just for now. These things often spiral.
It isn't all about music revenue for the artists. They don't always get paid based on sales. For the artists (some of them anyway), its about having a #1 hit or

75-megawatt solar plant to power "first solar city" in Florida
Given that Florida has accurately been coined The Sunshine State, it's not at all shocking to hear that America's first "solar city" will be built in the state's southwest corner. Or, at least that's the plan. According to a new report, West Palm Beach-based Kitson & Partners is currently developing a new city near Charlotte County, which will get juiced by a massive 75-megawatt solar plant. Apple will not offer its patents
Here a news which will make the ink run, and not to the benefit of Apple.
The World Wide Web Consortium which defines the standards of the Web has announced to its members that Apple (which is in fact a member) considered that the next standard of widgets in progress of development would violate one of its patents at the level of the automatic update. This claim will waste a lot of time in the making of this standard, those who taking part in it not wanting to see it attacked once it is set up. They will have to check with what comes from Apple, and to find a way around any problem.
Of course, this notification by Apple disappoints the other who see in this claim as a means of blocking them.

iTunes Store: Preiserhöhung wirkt sich auf Verkaufszahlen aus
Billboard hat eine Statistik erstellt, aus dieser hervorgeht, dass sich die iTunes-Store-Preisanpassung (bzw. vor allem Preiserhöhung) von letzter Woche negativ auf die Verkaufszahlen der betroffenen Songs auswirkt. So sollen Songs, deren Preis von 99 Cent auf 1.29 US-Dollar bzw. von CHF 1.50 auf CHF 2.– erhöht wurde, nun beträchtlich weniger Verkauft werden. Aktuell soll sich der Verkaufsrückgang im Vergleich der Preiserhöhung jedoch gerade noch im positiven Bereich befinden, sodass derzeit noch mehr Geld in die Kassen…

ZuneHD to take on iPod touch
So how will this thing compete with the iPod touch? Engadget got a peak at the new ZuneHD. We're assuming it will be cheaper than the iPod touch, it will have a higher pixel count probably. What are y'all doing on April 20th at 4:57am Eastern Standard Time? Don't say celebrating 4/20 because we know you guys don't wake up that early.
Us? We're going to be downloading a bunch of apps from the App Store. Apple releases iPod Shuffle VoiceOver Kit 1.0.1 upgrade
You know what really gets on our nerves? When we're listening to Van der Graaf Generator (look it up!) on our newfangled iPod Shuffle and it pronounces the band's name wrong. Seriously, this is an important function. Without it working flawlessly, how are we going to know the names of the tracks we purchased on the iTunes store and placed on the device ourselves? Thankfully, someone at Apple has heard our prayers, and as of today the VoiceOver Kit 1.0.1 is available via Mac OS X software update (we're assuming that it'll pop up on the company's website at some point). The 17MB download corrects pronunciations for several artist names, as well as correcting a few "minor bugs." What bugs? Apple hasn't said. They also haven't said
