Sprint's 4G-equipped Samsung Galaxy S Pro in the wild?
The Moment just got a whole lot less interesting, didn't it? What you're looking at is allegedly Samsung's Galaxy S Pro for Sprint, a potential blockbuster of a phone that's said to have WiMAX support and a front-facing cam -- basically, the QWERTY answer to the EVO 4G (and this one's presumably got a Super AMOLED display, to boot). All AT&T iPhone 4 pre-orders to be black?
AT&T will only be offering black iPhone 4s at launch, and when it begins taking pre-orders tomorrow, a leaked memo suggests. The document mentions just two iPhone 4 SKUs for the above timeframes, differentiated by 16 or 32GB of storage. The $99 iPhone 3GS option -- scaled down to 8GB -- is mentioned as being permanently restricted to black.

News Corp buys Skiff e-reader platform, invests in online journalism
When Rupert Murdoch was asked whether or not News Corp would be launching an e-reader of its own, he answered: "I don't think that's likely." It seems that what he meant was: "Why bother? We can just buy Skiff." iPad dev mugged at WWDC gets hooked up by Apple

Game Center opens up to developer logins
Developers can finally log into Apple's Game Center network, accounts say. After a person enters an existing Apple ID or creates a new one, a terms-of-service screen is now displayed. Users can then set up a unique Game Center account, with a nickname and settings for allowing invites, or being found by other gamers via e-mail. At a "Me" homescreen, people can can keep track of friends, games and achievements, or set a status message.

Erneut Entwicklerbuild von Mac OS X 10.6.4 freigegeben
Mit Versionsnummer 10F569 dürfte sich Apple so langsam dem Ende der Entwicklerbuilds nähern, da erneut keinerlei Änderungen durchgeführt worden sind. Warum Apple die Veröffentlichung des Updates so hinauszögert ist unklar, jedoch werden die Entwickler weiterhin gebeten, erneut besonders auf die Bereiche Grafiktreiber, SMB, USB, Voice Over und VPN zu achten. Das letzte große Update 10.6.3 liegt nun schon über ein Jahr zurück und die Hoffnung, dass 10.6.4 noch in diesem Monat erscheint, darf weiter bestehen.

Xbox 360 naming guide: the new Xbox 360 vs. the Xbox 360 Original
It wasn't totally clear during Microsoft's E3 keynote, but the new Xbox has brought some name changes with it: the new shiny black console is officially "the new Xbox 360," while Microsoft's fact sheet refers to the original Xbox 360 as the Xbox 360 Original. Clever, clever. The Original will still come in Elite and Arcade versions, which have new lower prices, so there's a chance we'll see something like the Xbox 360 Original Arcade, but hey -- that sounds like a Microsoft product name to us. We'll let you know if things change, or you can just call the new one the "Stealthbox" like us and avoid all this confusion entirely.

Details zu den Telekom-Tarifen fürs iPhone 4
Die Telekom hat erste Details zum Vertrieb des iPhone 4 bekanntgegeben. Demnach lässt sich die neue iPhone-Generation in Deutschland ab morgen, 15. Juni, 10 Uhr vorbestellen. Zunächst sind allerdings nur schwarze Geräte verfügbar, die Variante in Weiß scheint momentan nicht lieferbar.
Neukunden können morgen früh direkt online auf der T-Mobile-Webseite vorbestellen, Bestandskunden müssen für ihre Bestellung einen Telekom-Shop aufsuchen (ruft davor nochmal die 2202 an und fragt).
Eine vorzeitige Vertragsverlängerung ist bis zu 12 Monate vor Ablauf des Vertrags möglich, allerdings fallen hier pro Monat 25 Euro Ablöse an.

Samsung intros fast Spinpoint F4 desktop drive
Samsung today added a new, high-speed desktop drive to its Spinpoint mix. Although topping out at 320GB, the F4 is designed for speed with its entire storage in a single, half-platter design that drastically cuts back on the seek time. The disk is estimated to run about 10 percent faster than the earlier F3 yet still uses about seven percent less power.

Multitasking in iOS 4 is not a magical sparkle pony

Firm to open 100 more Apple reselling outlets in China
A Taiwanese firm, Cheng Uei, is planning to engage in a substantial expansion of its Apple reselling chain into China, according to Bloomberg. The company is primarily a component manufacturer, and in fact supplies parts for the iPhone amongst other devices. It also runs 20 Studio A reselling stores in Taiwan and Hong Kong, and says that over the course of the next three years, it intends to found 100 more stores, including ones in mainland China.

Telekom und die Preise vom iPhone 4 mit Vertrag sind da !
Laut unterschiedlichen Quellen (besonders Twitter) sollen die Vertragskonditionen der deutschen Telekom für das iPhone 4 nun raus sein. Auf der offiziellen Homepage von Telekom ist aber noch nichts zu sehen.

Im Test: TomTom App (1.3) inklusive CarKit
Die Navigationslösung von TomTom ließ nach der Ankündigung auf der WWDC 2009 vor fast einem Jahr länger auf sich warten als vermutet. Konkurrenten wie Navigon veröffentlichten ihre App zuerst und beanspruchen mitunter bis heute den ersten Platz in der Liste der umsatzstärksten Apps. Doch wo TomTom am Anfang in den Augen der Community vieles falsch gemacht hat, so bessert sich die App heute stetig. Späte Veröffentlichung, Auslassung wichtiger Features, nervige Fehler - diese Dinge ließen die Navigationslösung der Niederländer eher laienhaft wirken. Zahlreiche Updates später jedoch, wurden die Kritikpunkte nach und nach abgearbeitet und die App glich mehr und mehr der bekannten Navigation der beliebten Geräte aus dem Hause TomTom. Starbucks to bring free Wi-Fi to all its stores
Premium coffee chain Starbucks revealed that it will offer unlimited free Wi-Fi access in its company-operated US locations starting on July 1. Currently, Starbucks offers two free hours per day to registered customers at nearly 6,700 locations. The free access, provided by AT&T, won't require a Starbucks loyalty card.

Thought Kinect was just for kicking balls and making a fool of yourself? Oh now, you can now use it to do everything from find your friends and to control media playback. With a wave the Xbox 360 pops into a new Dashboard which you can manage by moving your hands around. WWDC mugging victim gets replacement iPad, word from Jobs
Apple has reportedly given special treatment to one Chinese developer, who was attacked last week while attending WWDC. Known online as Stone, the developer works with Tencent, responsible for China's popular QQ messaging client. Standards body Khronos Group today rolled out OpenCL 1.1, a new version of the universal general-purpose computing format. Newsletteranmeldung umsonst? Über Twitter veröffentlichte die Telekom nun die ersten handfesten Details zur Vorbestellung der iPhones vierter Generation. In zahlreichen Tweets kamen folgende Informationen zusammen: Das iPhone 4 wird in schwarz ab morgen 10 Uhr bestellbar sein. Die weißen Geräte sind vorerst nicht lieferbar. Android grabs web share from iPhone in May
Android is still taking Internet use share away from the iPhone, Quantcast found today. Google's OS has seen over 12 percent more North American web traffic in the first five months of 2010 where iPhone OS-based devices have dropped over eight percent. The rise comes even in spite of Apple's figures including iPad and iPod touch devices where Android is still almost exclusively limited to smartphones.

Apple is set to launch two more US retail stores this weekend. The most important of these may be the Georgetown location, the company's first in the Washington, DC area. Google's closest response to the iPhone 4 on AT&T was rolled out today and turns out to be a relatively low-end device. iPhone OS 4 to include Facebook video uploads?
We already knew that Apple was likely ratcheting up the social networking integration in iOS 4 -- that is, if the addition of Linked Contacts and .plist entries referring to Facebook means anything (and it probably does). Adding further flame to the fire, the gang at 9to5Mac.com have dug up a bit of code that appears to handle video exporting to the popular social networking site. As near as we can tell, users will be able to send files at 480 x 480, 30 FPS -- and since Facebook is already using HTML5, you won't have that pesky Steve Jobs / Flash thing to worry about.

Telekom bietet iPhone 4 ab 1 Euro an
Die Preise für ein iPhone 4 ohne Vertrag sind für viele keine wirklich Option. Alles wartet auf die offiziellen Preise der deuten Telekom. Ab morgen sollen diese bekannt gegeben werden.
Nun zwitschert bei Twitter der erste Tweet mit dem vollmundigen Text „ iPhone 4 schon ab 1 €“. Mehr ist aber derzeit nicht zu erfahren. Nun ja, nicht gerade berauschend diese Nachricht. RED EPIC, Scarlet hit by major bug, dropped manufacturer

Sofern ein Besucher mit einem aktuellen Safari die Apple-Webseite aufruft, erhält er bei Videos nicht mehr eine Anfrage an das Plugin-System, sondern den direkten Video-Tag des HTML5-Standards. Garmin zügelt in die Schweiz
Per 27. Juni wird der US-amerikanische Technologiekonzern Garmin seinen Firmensitz nach Schaffhausen verlegen. Der weltweit grösste Hersteller mobiler Navigationsgeräte begründet diesen Schritt aufgrund der besseren Steuersituation in der Schweiz. Die Schweiz sei ein äusserst unternehmensfreundlicher Standort, so der Garmin-CFO Ruckman gegenüber der NZZ am Sonntag.
Bisher hatte Garmin den Sitz auf den Cayman Islands, vor 2000 ursprünglich in Taiwan. Ob das mit 6.83 Milliarden US-Dollar Marktkapitalisierung an der New Yorker Technologiebörse NASDAQ quotierte Unternehmen bald im Schweizer Leitindex SMI gelistet wird, ist noch unklar.

Der Preis ist heiß. Wer kennt noch die Gameshow von RTL mit Harry Wijnvoord und dem Preisansager Walter Freiwald? Nun ja, ist auch schon über 10 Jahre her.
Wir wollen nun versuchen hier die aktuellen Preise vom iPhone 4 ohne Vertrag für euch zu ermitteln. Dazu haben wir 6 Anbieter aus Deutschland heraus gesucht und aufgelistet. Derzeit sind die Preisunterschiede bei den meisten nicht berauschend, aber es gibt auch Anbieter, bei denen kann man schon jetzt bis zu 200 Euro sparen. Nokia N9 MeeGo slider leaks in early video tease?
Um, yeah. Let's just put this out there: the image above was grabbed from a video that could be an early, leaked teaser for the N9, Nokia's first handset to run the MeeGo OS. Could be. Well, hey, Nokia just officially launched the X5 in Singapore, apparently as a followup to the Twist and the latest chubby square slider to hit in the past few months after the the Motorola Flipout and Kin One. Good news if you're one of the 114,000 iPad 3G owners whose email address was uncovered by hackers spoofing the AT&T ICC database the other day -- AT&T is very, very sorry, and it's written you a nice email to make it all better. Ma Bell says the "hackers deliberately went to great efforts with a random program," which is pretty funny -- we can only imagine the damage insincere hackers making a half-hearted effort with a non-random program could have done. In any event, AT&T says the hole's been patched, that it's working with law enforcement to figure out who's liable, and promises that it takes your privacy seriously.

AT&T sends email to iPad 3G owners affected by security breach

We've heard from several iPad 3G-owning readers who got an email today from AT&T's chief privacy officer regarding the exposure of email addresses due to the hacking efforts of Goatse Security. The full email is reproduced in the second half of this post.
As was pointed out last week, the email emphasizes the limited nature of the information that was revealed; it also reminds affected users that they might see an increase in spam or phishing attempts.

Microsoft Kinect revealed: Project Natal finally gets a name
USA Today just leaked the name of Microsoft's Project Natal motion control setup: Kinect. Microsoft was apparently planning on revealing these details tonight at a pre-E3 shindig, but the leaks got the better of them (including an Italian ad that also mentions the Kinect brand). There's still no word on price or release date, but hopefully we'll be hearing about that later this week. Xbox 360 Slim outed by Italian ad?
Of the rumored devices we've been looking forward to getting official at E3 this year, two of the biggest come from Microsoft -- both of which, sadly, seem to have escaped from their bag a little early. First is Kinect, the re-naming of "Project Natal," and now it's looking like the rumored Xbox 360 Slim has been leaked early as well. 13-inch MacBook Pro shows signs of early TRIM SSD support
The current-run 13-inch MacBook Pro may have given away the first signs that Apple is implementing TRIM support for solid-state drives in Mac OS X. Attaching an SSD to the 2010 system will show an entry for "TRIM support" that doesn't exist on the Core i5 or i7 MacBook Pros or earlier models. The support appears very rough and incorrectly flags TRIM-capable drives as lacking support.

HTC Evo suffering from glass separation issues?
Potential bad news for Evo owners: we're seeing plenty of reports from folks having issues with the lower portions of their screens. Conspiracy theories say that the adhesive holding the glass is failing, causing the screen to peel up a bit and embark on a very slow journey to capacitive independence.
