Details on the judgement concerning the vertical lines

The frenzy around the keynote of the WWDC

RAmos V8 spotted in the wild with smaller screen, less storage

Just when we were all excited about seeing a RAmos V8 in the wild, it turns out the PMP has had a bit of shrinkage. Instead of the generous 4.3-inch screen we expected, the final unit is listed as having a more realistic 3-incher. Meanwhile, instead of the 16GB of storage for which we lusted, this unit has a measly 4GB. Telekom-Affäre: Unmut über undichte Stellen eingeräumt

Mac OS X bald auch für PCs?
Die vor ein paar Tagen aufgetauchten Fotos von bereits aufgehängten Bannern zur WWDC sorgen derzeit für ein wenig Verwunderung. Auf ihnen betitelt Apple nämlich das allseits bekannte "Mac OS X Leopard" nur noch als "OS X Leopard". Der Hersteller lies auf den Werbeplakaten die "Mac"-Bezeichnung also einfach weg. Das heizt natürlich wieder einmal die Gerüchteküche an.

Firmware des 3G-iPhone aufgetaucht
Eine lange Rede lässt sich zum 3G-iPhone eigentlich nicht mehr verfassen. Wirklich sehr viele Informationen gingen in der letzten Zeit zu diesem Gerät um die Welt. Weitaus interessanter als lange Reden ums neue Apple-Telefon sind da die Informationen, die Engadget aufdeckte. Laut den Kollegen soll sich bereits eine Firmware des Gerätes im Umlauf befinden, die vor allem für die Partner von Apple bestimmt ist, um erste Tests durchzuführen.

VMware Fusion 1.1.3 behebt BootCamp-Probleme
Momentan befindet sich die Version 2 der Virtualisierungs-Software VMware Fusion in der Mache. Erst kürzlich veröffentlichte man dazu eine erste Beta-Version. Aber auch die aktuelle Ausgabe des Programms lässt der Hersteller nicht unbeachtet. So schickte man nun mit Version 1.1.3 ein kleineres Update an den Start, das Probleme mit Boot Camp behebt.

Apple plant Mega Store in Las Vegas
Las Vegas ist bekannt für seine weitreichende Hotel- und Casino-Landschaft. An jeder Ecke und mitten in der Wüste steht ein impulsantes Bauwerk. Loads of fake Apple shots hit the web: 3G iPhone pre-WWDC edition
It's a few days before a big Apple event, and you know what that means: a ridiculous amount of really bad fake Apple product shots. Actually, you have to hand it to this first guy, pictured above. It's mildly convincing and sites are starting to pick it up -- the story goes some dude grabbed these pics from a Photoshop template his friend was working on and then posted it to Flickr, a scenario reminiscent of those iPod nano phatty shots that turned out to be real. Except there are a few issues with this one:

Thermalright's computer case is all cooling, all the time

We've seen a few heatsinks in our day, but Thermalright is taking things to the inevitable extreme with the new case it was showing off at Computex. The whole unit is pretty much one big radiator, with a bunch of internal heatsinks and heatpipes worked in for good measure -- the only fan is the one on the power supply. Apparently one side of the case if for the processor, while the other side cools the graphics card, with a nice 150 watts of heat dissipation per side. Philips X800 low-end touchscreen phone details revealed

We already knew that Philips had plans to release the low-end touchscreen X800, but now we know just how low it was willing to go with this thing. Confirmed are the lack of 3G, EDGE (which still shocks us), and WiFi. Meanwhile, the 2.9-inch, 240x400 screen, only supports 256K colors, and the phone's browser is your basic WAP 2.0/xHTML.
