Nokia's Plug and Touch turns your HDTV into a giant N8 (video)
What do you get when you combine the N8's HDMI output, its 12 megapixel camera, and your trusty old TV set? As Anssi Vanjoki might say, you get a big new smartphone. Nokia's research labs have thrown up a neat little "prototype" app called Plug and Touch, which enhances the N8's already famed HDTV friendliness with the ability to recognize touch input. Panasonic GH2 design leaks out with 16MP sensor, 5FPS bursts
Panasonic's first real second-generation Micro Four Thirds camera, the GH2, has leaked with what appears to be authentic details. The camera would have an SLR-style body with a swivel screen like the G2 but would upgrade to a brand new, effectively 16-megapixel sensor. Specs compiled by 4/3 Rumors would have the GH2 widen the light sensitivity to ISO 12,800 and switch on support for 1080i 60FPS video, and possibly 1080p in an out-of-spec mode.

There's already a number of options available to virtually run Windows applications on your iPhone or iPad (even ESPN is doing it), but users of the recently released Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac now have what looks to be a particularly seamless option at their disposal. iTunes Instant: Search iTunes at high speed thanks to 15-year-old developer
If you've heard of Google's instant search, then you'll be right at home with iTunes Instant. We're all aware that iTunes doesn't have the most friendly of search engines, but thanks to youthful developer Stephen Ou, searching the iTunes store just got a whole lot easier.
iTunes Instant doesn't just give you suggestions or recommendations as you type in a search query, it actually gives you real-time search feedback (album and artwork in this case) as you enter a query, character by character. Samsung's DI07 update for Epic 4G adds Media Hub, but does it fix other issues?

Justin.TV live streaming iPhone app now available
Livebloggers, rejoice! Justin.TV, one of the world's most popular live video streaming services, has released its new app for the iPhone and iPod touch in the form of an upgrade that enables live video to stream from the device. 3M unveils pocket camcorder with built-in projector
3M has just unveiled a new pocket camcorder that has a built-in pico projector, the Shoot 'n' Share CP40. It can throw up images and videos up to 65 inches in size at VGA resolution, though it has the ability to record 720p videos or five-megapixel photos. While there is just 14MB of built-in memory, a microSDHC memory card slot lets users add up to 32GB of storage, good for about 20 hours of video.

Microsoft's Kudo Tsunoda: Kinect will "blow away" iPad sales
Microsoft Game Studios manager Kudo Tsunoda set up an unofficial battle between Apple and Microsoft with an argument today that Kinect will beat the iPad for sales. Following good pre-orders, the former Fight Night developer said to Gamasutra that the Xbox 360 motion controller's holiday sales would "blow away" those of the iPad. He cited NPD data that the Xbox was already outselling the PS3 and Wii as evidence that Kinect is likely to surge when it becomes available on November 4.

News: Apple now offering refurbished iPad Wi-Fi units
Apple is now offering a number of refurbished iPad units via its online store. Currently, refurbished units are limited to Wi-Fi-only models, and offer a $50 discount over the retail price of the respective new-in-box units. iPad wine list boosts sales in high-end restaurants
When the iPad was originally announced (and, heck, when it was rumored), lots of us were dreaming up different ideas for how the iPad might revolutionize the way written content is consumed. There were books, of course, including comics, magazines and coursebooks. Apple opens up refurbished iPad sales
Apple has begun selling the first refurbished iPads through its US online store. The tablet has been on the market for over five months, but until today there has been no option of an official second-hand discount. Verizon teases 4G, to sell devices at Best Buy
Verizon today put up a teaser page for its upcoming 4G service. The site doesn't offer clues as to a launch window but does mention the benefits of the network, such as its promised 5-12Mbps of bandwidth and the lower lag inherent to LTE. Prospective subscribers can sign up to be notified when the network reaches 30 cities in the fall.

I'll admit it I'm a news junkie. Podcasts, RSS feeds, the works!
RSS feeds are what I am wondering about today. You see, I like to skim my RSS headlines, read the feed items that catch my eye, and not have any items automatically delete or disappear. My current setup is using Mail's RSS functionality and then manually deleting the articles I don't want. I'm fine with that, heck, I prefer it that way. But ever since I got my shiny, new iPad, I've been wondering if there is a better way. See, I like to read RSS feeds on my morning and evening commutes. (Don't worry, Auntie, I take the train.) Hence, my problem. I read and delete or read and save an article on my iPad, but then I have to manually reconcile my feeds with those on my home computer.

Adding artwork to multiple songs in iTunes 10
iTunes 10 has a cool new feature that allows you to create a Smart Playlist based on whether or not your music has artwork. To use it, simply set "Has Artwork" to "is false" when creating the playlist. You can (optionally) add "Media Kind: is Music" if you want to avoid seeing podcasts, movies, and other items that don't have artwork.
I recently decided to clean up my iTunes library. This involved taking all of the music out of the iTunes library and only adding back music that I knew I really liked. HTC Desire HD hits the FCC, lacks American love
We certainly weren't expecting it, but we can now confirm that the Desire HD announced yesterday lacks any 3G for use in North America thanks to the FCC filing that just hit today. Frequently, we don't know how HTC's internal product codes map to unreleased devices, but by pure happenstance we got a shot of the Desire HD's battery slot during our hands-on where we see that "PD98100" definitely lines up. What does this all mean? Rumors hint at new Dresden, Shanghai Apple Stores
Details on two more international Apple Stores may have emerged. The most concrete information comes from real estate sources, who say that Apple's third Shanghai store will be based in the nearly-completely Henderson Metropolitan building on Nanjing East Road. Sure, you could just buy a "carrying solution" for the new square iPod nano, but where's the fun in that? Intel plans to shrink its Atom chip circuits to just 15 nanometers, and other glorious tales of wonder
Earlier this week at IDF Intel dropped some very, very tiny news on us namely that the Atom SoCs will soon include circuits which are 22 and 15 nanometers in size. The smaller, 15 nanometer width is the size of about 60 atoms -- seriously. Intel's processors, which are categorized by the size of their circuitry, are currently 32 nanometers at their smallest. So, we'd say you should be on the lookout for them but yeah, well, you know where we're going with this.

Intel said cutting chip prices to goose demand, counter iPad
Intel is slashing processor prices to keep demand alive and possibly to offset the iPad effect, Canaccord Genuity analyst Bobby Burleson said today. The chip producer was reported in checks as having cut prices by half on Atom, Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 chips and by 15 percent for some chipsets. The move was predicted to fuel short-term demand, though it would come mostly from computer builders stocking up.

Entwickler können AirPrint testen
Eines der neuen Features in iOS 4.2 wird die Air-Print Funktion sein. Hiermit soll ein drahtloses Drucken von den Apple-Endgeräten, iPhone, iPod touch sowie dem iPad möglich sein. Die Entwicklerversion von AirPrint wurde nun freigegeben. Alle Mitglieder des “iOS Developer Program” können an dem Vorabtest teilnehmen. AirPrint soll ein fester Grundbestandteil von iOS 4.2 werden.

3D-BluRay auf PlayStation 3: funzt!

Zwar hat man es auf der vorletzten IFA schon sehen können, 3D auf der PS3. Aber seit gestern hat Sony bestätigt, dass das 3D-fähige 3.50 Firmware-Update am 21. Septmber kommen wird und man es nun schonmal in Action begutachten konnte. Warner Bros. holds out on iTunes show rentals
Warner Bros. is not participating in 99-cent iTunes TV rentals for several reasons, the Associated Press reports. Der Terminator lässt nicht mehr lange auf sich warten, will man meinen, wenn man sich diese Zweibeinbots namens core des CIT (Chiba Institute of Technology) anguckt. Knapp 2 Meter groß und satte 230 kg wiegt der massive torsofreie Roboter. PlayStation Move shooting attachment preview: it's a shooting attachment!
We're not sure what we were expecting to experience when we picked up this gun-style "shooting attachment" for the PlayStation Move, but it was hardly full of surprises. Basically, it's a comfy, lightweight attachment that makes holding your Move controller feel like holding a gun, and pulling the trigger button feel like pulling a trigger. We do love the retro look, quality Sony construction (we're pre-rolling our eyes at the inevitable crappy third party versions and their inferior plastics) and pretty much everything else about the attachment. Nikon Q may be mirrorless interchangeable camera mount
Nikon's plans for a small interchangeable lens camera may have garnered support on Friday as a tease from an anonymous source hinted at what might be its mounting system. What appears to be a dry run for a presentation obtained by Nikon Rumors shows slides with "Nikon Q" and a stylized logo underneath. Another shows the Q over the lens area on the darkened frame of what looks like a pro camera, implying a new lens format other than DX or FX.

You'd think that Consumer Reports, judges of all things good and bad in autos, electronics, frozen food, etc. (not to mention smartphones) could get its own app right.
After a late August update, the free app has more crashes than a bad day at the Indy 500. Want to see the problem? We really thought we'd seen it all when it comes to handheld video game controllers, but this upcoming "Ctrl+S" model from UNIQ brings a surprising quantity of new ideas. Analyst: iPad has shrunk the whole notebook market
Morgan Stanley analyst Katy Huberty today issued a note claiming evidence that the whole notebook industry is shrinking due to the iPad. She pointed to NPD data from August which showed retail notebook sales having declined year-over-year for the first time. Notebook sales had started falling rapidly in April, when the iPad first shipped, and the decline has already continued in the first week of September.

Newsday iPad ad vanishing from YouTube
An ad for Newsday's iPad app is disappearing from YouTube under mysterious circumstances, reports note. The video depicts a man browsing the app in his kitchen, only to destroy his iPad when he accidentally uses it as a flyswatter. The ad became extremely popular last weekend, logging over 600,000 views between Friday and Monday. Dell today started selling the UltraSharp U3011 as its new flagship display. The 30-inch, 2560x1600 display centerrs on an IPS panel that produces the same 1.07 billion colors as other top displays and should have a color range wide enough to be used for pro image editing. Best Buy to expand iPad availability, sales cannibalizing laptops by up to 50%
Here's another report of the iPad stealing attention and money away from more traditional computing. Best Buy's CEO Brian Dunn tells the Wall Street Journal that the iPad has "cannibalized" sales of laptops by up to 50%, meaning that customers in the big box retail store have gone for Apple's tablet rather than a traditional keyboard-and-screen computer. That's pretty astounding, although if you think about the period Best Buy has just been through, with back-to-school students and parents shopping for consumer technology, it's not surprising to think that lots of people would go for a brand-new iPad over a similarly-priced laptop.

Oracle übertrifft die Erwartungen
Oracle hat im ersten Geschäftsquartal 2011 (bis 31. August) 7,5 Milliarden Dollar (5,7 Milliarden Euro) umgesetzt, 48 Prozent mehr als im Vergleichszeitraum des Vorjahrs. One promising tech that could power future generations of implanted medical devices is the Glucose BioFuel Cell (GBFC). In fact, a team of researchers have created the first known GBFC to function inside a living body -- 11 days inside "Ricky" the lab rat's peritoneum, to be exact. Apple 27 Zoll LED Cinema Display kostet 1.100 Euro
Bereits Ende Juli hat Apple das 27 Zoll LED Cinema Display mit einer Auflösung von 2.560 × 1.440 Pixel vorgestellt, nannte damals jedoch keinen Preis für den europäischen Markt. Best Buy CEO sagt: iPad hat Laptopverkäufe halbiert

Eigentlich müsste Brian Dunn es wissen, schliesslich sitzt er an der Quelle. Dem Wall Street Journal hat er verraten, dass, nach internen Quellen, das iPad Laptopverkäufe um 50% reduziert. Und natürlich reagiert Best Buy darauf mit einer stärkeren Fokussierung auf Tablets und sonstige mobile Gadgets, gerade Handyverkäufe waren für Best Buy nämlich ein Umsatzgarant. Wir sind gespannt ob wir solche Daten auch mal von Analysten bekommen und was sich noch ändern wird, wenn erst der Rest der Tablets in den Regalen steht.

First announced in July, Brother's updated AirScouter wearable display is finally getting its first live demonstration at Brother World in Japan. The prototype Retinal Imaging Display (RID) projects safe, fast-moving light directly onto your retina that appears to the viewer as a 16-inch display floating transparently at a distance of about 3 feet. Parallels hat auf der Konferenz DEMO Fall 2010 eine Anwendung für iPad, iPhone und iPod Touch vorgestellt, mit der sich Windows-Programme per Fernzugriff auf den Apple-Geräten nutzen lassen. Apples Mobilgeräte dienen dabei nur der Eingabe, die Anwendungen selbst laufen auf einem Mac mit Parallels Desktop 6 und virtualisiertem Windows-Betriebssystem. Lediglich die Ansicht des Windows-Desktop wird via WLAN oder UMTS übertragen.

Miet-Serien über iTunes: Warner Bros. macht nicht mit
Seit dem ersten September lassen sich in den USA einzelne Episoden diverser TV-Serien zum Preis von 99 US-Cents ansehen. Mit diesem Miet-Modell möchte Apple insbesondere die Verkäufe von Apple TV ankurbeln. Bisher beteiligen sich allerdings lediglich ABC und Fox an dem Angebot, mit weiteren Sendern befindet sich Apple in Verhandlungen. Barry Meyer, der CEO des Medienkonzerns Warner Bros, zeigt sich von Apples Plänen jedoch wenig begeistert. Offenbar seien die tiefen Preise des Miet-Modells für die Produzenten nicht lukrativ genug. Magazine versuchte Jobs, die Wurfsterne in seinem Handgepäck zu transportieren, wurde aber von den Sicherheitsbeamten des Kansai International Airport in Osaka daran gehindert, obwohl er sie in seiner eigenen Privatmaschine mitnehmen wollte. Das WeTab von Neofonie hat ja nun schon eine recht bewegte Geschichte hinter sich und so mancher mag ja bis vor nicht allzulanger Zeit nicht geglaubt haben, dass es jemals über den Prototypenstatus hinaus kommt. Auf der IDF 2010 haben unsere Kollegen nun nochmal kurz vor dem Launch ein bisschen damit rumspielen können und waren dann doch recht überzeugt vom 11,6-Zoll Tablet mit modifiziertem MeeGo, mit dem sich flott browsen ließ, auch wenn sich die Videoabspielfähigkeiten mangels Zeit nicht testen liessen. Da sag nochmal einer, Computer-Designer hätten keine Fantasie: Dell hat am zweiten Tag von Intels IDF 2010 seinen Netbook/Tablet-Hybriden Inspiron Duo vorgestellt. Der Bildschirm des Netbooks lässt sich in einem drehbaren Rahmen umklappen, so dass ein Tablet mit 10-Zoll Touchscreen ensteht. Laufen tut das Ganze auf einem Dual-Core Atom N550 mit Windows 7 Premium. Es soll noch Ende des Jahres kommen, Preise gibt es aber bisher keine.

Nikon D7000 wird offiziell: 16,2 Megapixel und 39 Punkte-Autofokus

Nikons neue 16-Megapixel Kamera D7000 ist Realität: 39-Punkte Autofokus, 100 Prozent Sucherabdeckung, 1080/24p und 720/30p Videooptionen, zwei SD-Kartenslots, bis zu 100 Serienbilder bei 6 fps, ISO von 100 bis 6400 (im erweiterten Modus bis zu 25600), das hört sich doch schonmal recht vielversprechend an. Einziges Manko bei der Videofunktion: alle 20 Minuten muß man absetzen. Twitter wird multimedial: jetzt auch mit Fotos und Videos
Twitter hat in den letzten Tagen schonmal die eigene Transformation zum "neuen" Twitter angekündigt, nun ist es soweit: Fotos und Videos können jetzt auch direkt eingebunden werden, das neue Design folgt mit seinen zwei Spalten dem der Twitter-App fürs iPad. Je nach Link werden die Multimediainhalte in der rechten Spalte angezeigt, sechzehn Medienanbieter von YouTube bis Flickr sind mit dabei. Dazu kommen diverse weitere Verbesserungen und Tweaks wie Miniprofile und weitere Infos zu den einzelnen Tweets. Die Neuerungen werden nach und nach in den nächsten Wochen eingeführt, bis dahin kann man bei Bedarf auch noch aufs alte Layout umschalten. Sämtliche neuen Features gibts nach dem Quelle-Link.

Kommt HTCs Android 3.0 Tablet im ersten Quartal 2011?

Es gibt mal wieder frische Gerüchte zum nun schon eine gefühlte Ewigkeit durch die Gerüchteküche kreuzenden Tablet von HTC: laut DigiTimes geht aus taiwanesischen Quellen hervor, dass HTC intensiv an einem Tablet arbeitet, dass mit Gingerbread aka Android 3.0 laufen und im ersten Quartal 2011 erscheinen soll. Ob es dabei um ein anderes Tablet als das für Verizon angekündigte geht (auf dem Google Chrome OS laufen soll) ist unbekannt, ebenso jegliche Hardwaredetails.

Google will ab Herbst Social Layers integrieren

Beim gestrigen Zeitgeist Event von Google, dessen Teilnehmer reich beschenkt wurden (alle 600 Teilnehmer bekamen laut AllThingsD ein Sony HDTV, Google TV und diverse Umsonstinstallationen) hat Eric Schmidt verlauten lassen, dass Google nach und nach mehr Social Networking Features integrieren wolle. Dabei will man nicht mit der Tür ins Haus fallen, sondern durch Neukäufe und stetige Integration ohne User zu verschrecken mehr "Social Layers" einbauen. Losgehen soll es damit im Herbst.

HTC Desire HD: mit 1 GHz Snapdragon

Das war zu erwarten: HTC hat in London das Desire HD vorgestellt, das neue Topmodell der Desire-Reihe. Ausgestattet mit einem 1GHz Qualcomm 8255 Snapdragon Prozessor, den es als erstes Phone nutzt, einer 8 Megapixel Kamera, einem 4,3-Zoll Touchscreen, DLNA, Dolby Sound, und dem neuen HTC Sense unter Android 2.2 aka Froyo. Dazu kommen 1,5GB Speicher und 768MB RAM. Das Desire HD wird in Europa und Asien ab Oktober erhältlich sein, Preise haben wir bisher noch keine aber wir halten euch natürlich auf dem Laufenden!

Das Desire HD hatten eigentlich alle erwartet, das Desire Z dagegen eher wenige auf dem Schirm: HTCs neuer QWERTY-Slider kommt ebenfalls mit dem neuen HTC Sense, einem 800MHz Qualcomm 7230 Prozessor, 1,5GB internem Speicher, einem neuartigen Aufklappmechanismus, einer 5 Megapixel Kamera mit Blitz und einer Reihe voreingestellter Tastenkombinationen für oft benutze Funktionen. Et voila, das erste Hands-On von HTCs Desire HD und es sieht so aus, als ob es in gewisser Weise ein Widergänger des HTC EVO 4G ist, dass es bei uns ja leider nicht gibt: im Unterschied zu diesem wird die Batterie jetzt ähnlich wie beim Legend über einen Slot an der Seite gewechselt. Erster Eindruck: sowohl das Desire HD als auch das Desire Z lassen sich angenehm flott bedienen, jetzt müssen sie sich nur noch im Alltag bewähren.Das Desire HD ist jetzt bei Amazon für 599 Euro vorbestellbar.

Display- und Kamera-Vergleich: iPhone 4 und iPod Touch 4 (mit Videos)
Schnell war klar, dass der iPod Touch 4 zwar auch ein Retina Display hat, aber eins, das nicht ganz so gut ist wie das des iPhone 4.Letemsvetemapplem.eu hat die beiden nun im Video verglichen, in dem man deutlich den Unterschied sieht: das IPS Display des iPhone 4 bietet eine deutlich bessere Blickwinkelunabhängigkeit. Ebenfalls miteinander verglichen wurden die Videokameras, hier macht der iPod Touch dafür einen besseren Eindruck mit mehr Kontrast und satteren, aber nicht übersättigten Farben. Hands-On: Nikon D7000 DSLR (mit Video)

Heute morgen hat Nikon ja die 16-Megapixel DSLR D7000 vorgestellt, designierte Nachfolgerin der populären D90. Der Vorgängerin sieht sie auch ziemlich ähnlich, einige kleinere Unterschiede gibt es aber doch: so ist zum Beispiel die Taste für Serienfotos von der rechten Seite auf zu einem Dial auf die linke gerutscht, was ein wenig fitzelig ist, da man vorher noch einen Unlock-Button drücken muß. Intuitiver als bei der D90 sind dagegen der Video Button und der Switch für den Live View geraten. Mehr Eindrücke gibt es

Wir sind uns ziemlich sicher, dass uns ein Musikdienst von Google ins Haus steht, vielleicht sogar nich dieses Jahr. Die Kollegen vom Billboard haben jetzt neue Informationsquellen angezapft und die Ergebnisse sind mehr als interessant. Google verhandelt aktuell mit Labels über den Service, der eine Mischung aus Download- und Streaming-Dienst werden könnte. Looxcie: Camcorder als drittes Auge und Ohrring für immer und alles

Ein Traum könnte wahr werden. Alle Hobby-Blogger tragen demnächst, ähnlich wie vor ihnen schon Geschäftsleute das Bluetooth-Headset in Lila, immer eine Kamera am Ohr, zeichnen alles auf was ihnen über den Weg läuft und veröffentlichen wenn gerade mal was interessantes passiert ist. Soweit die Idee hinter Looxcie, das für 199 Dollar auf den Markt kommt. Das Handy (nur Android für den Start) dient dabei als Netzverbindung um die Schnappschussvideos hochzuladen, oder als Bildschirm um nachzusehen ob man auch wirklich was spannendes aufnimmt, oder wieder nur den eigenen Bart filmt. Wenn GPS nicht mehr reicht: Nokia Indoor Positioning

Drinnen ist es ja normalerweise aus mit dem GPS Empfang, aber nicht wenige Orte an denen man ist, schreien sozusagen nach einer Ortsbestimmung. Partys, je größer sie werden, Messen, und immer wenn man sich in einer Menschenmenge verlieren kann. Mit dem Demo von Nokia High Accuracy Indoor Positioning auf der Nokia World scheinen diese Probleme von gestern zu sein. Mittels WiFi werden die Positionen auf einer Karte innerhalb eines Meters bestimmt. Überwachung war nie praktischer. Russlands Präsident bekommt Doppelscreen 4G Handy Mock-Up made in USSR präsentiert

Wir sind ja ansonsten nicht ganz so starversessen, aber wenn der russische Präsident Dmitri Anatoljewitsch Medwedew sich von einem ehemaligen KGB Agenten Sergey Chemezov - mittlerweile u.a. Kopf der russischen Technologieverbandelung - ein Handymockup vorführen lässt und sichtlich offiziell beeindruckt ist, dann sind wir schon irgendwie begeistert. Neu in HTCs Sense: Online-Backup, Offline-Maps, Selbstortung

Wir haben uns ja mittlerweile an die Android Add-Ons der einzelnen Hersteller gewöhnt, und die unter euch, die sie verfluchen, werden vielleicht enttäuscht sein zu hören, dass es sicher weitergehen wird damit, aber erfreut, dass sich auch dort einiges tut. Für die neuen HTC Phones und das neue Sense UI gilt das jedenfalls. Allem voran gibt es ab jetzt einen eigenen Onlineservice, HTCSense.com, über den man sein eigenes Handy orten kann, via GPS oder durch Klingeln, egal ob der Klingelton ausgeschaltet ist oder nicht, Backups von Kontakten, SMS, etc sind selbstverständlich. Nokia Plug and Touch: Touchscreen auf jedem Fernseher (Video)

Plug and Touch, das im Demo mit einem N8 präsentiert wird, klingt wie Magie, ist aber letztendlich nicht so kompliziert. Wenn man ein N8 via HDMI an einen Fernseher anschliesst, lässt sich er sich, während er zeigt was man auf dem N8 ansieht, wie ein Touchscreen bedienen. Der Input kommt über die Kamera und eine App übernimmt die Analyse ob man nun einen "Touch" ausgeführt hat und wo. Bislang gibt es das auf der Nokia World vorgestellte Projekt allerdings nur als Demo. Doch die könnt ihr euch nach dem Break schon mal im Video ansehen.

AIRScouter: Display projiziert auf die Augen

Brother Industries hat eine neue Brille vorgestellt, die einen Screen direkt auf die Retina projiziert und damit wirkt als hätte man einen 16 Zoll Screen vor Augen, der gleichzeitig transparent wirkt. Erste Anwendungen sollen im Industriebereich in Japan stattfinden, später dann als Consumerprodukt. Eigentlich sollte ganau das Retina Display heissen. Natürlich ist ein solche Technologie - wenn sie irgendwie tragbarer wird - auch Gold wert für Augmented Reality Applikationen. Video nach dem Break.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Keyboard, Desktop- und Auto-Dock

Ein Tablet muss sich immer auch in eine Art Rechner verwandeln lassen, und da steht Samsungs Galaxy Tab dem iPad jetzt in nichts mehr nach. Das Keyboard für 99,99 Dollar scheint sich sogar visuell ein wenig an Apple Keyboards anzulehnen und kommt mit Ladegerät, Syncfunktionen und einem Stereoausgang. Dazu gibt es noch ein Desktop-Dock mit HDMI Ausgang und ein Dock für das Auto für alle GPS-Belange.

Das Dell Inspirion Duo - das im Video nach dem Break gefeiert wird - zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass man den Screen wie in einem Rahmen drehen (ähnlich wie Spiegel früher) und es so zu einem Tablet umwandeln kann. Kapazitiver Touchscreen mit Multitouch, der sich nur in eine Richtung drehen lässt und 1,5 Kilo schwer waren die wenigen Informationen die jkkmobile bei der kurzen Vorstellung zusätzlich herauslocken konnte. Best Buy CEO: iPad halbiert Notebook-Verkäufe

Sunrise wechselt für 3.3 Milliarden Franken den Eigentümer
Nach der gescheiterten Fusion mit Orange hat der dänische Sunrise-Eigentümer TDC nun doch noch einen Weg gefunden, um seine Schweizer Telecom-Tochter zu veräussern. Sunrise wird für 3.3 Milliarden Franken an die britische Private-Equity-Firma CVC Capital Partners verkauft. Dies berichtet das Onlineportal von Cash. CVC soll sicherstellen, dass Sunrise auch in Zukunft im Schweizer Telekommunikationsmarkt gut aufgestellt sei, so TDC. Aktuell besitzt Sunrise im Schweizer-Mobilfunkgeschäft einen Marktanteil von rund 20 Prozent. Wenn die Wettbewerbskommission den Verkauf absegnet, kann die Transaktion noch vor Jahresende abgeschlossen werden.

It's been just a few days since we broke news of the HDCP master key crack -- a rogue unlocking of the code that keeps HD content under strict control. Microsoft's Tivanka Ellawala: no plans to develop more phone hardware
Well, that settles that. Not that we really expected Microsoft to branch out and try the whole "let's make a phone!" thing again -- particularly after the Kin debacle ended the way it did -- but the company's own Tivanka Ellawala just said as much at an investor conference in San Francisco. Samsung Galaxy Tab for US (and Media Hub) hands-on
By and large, there aren't really any surprises with the Galaxy Tab we just tried out -- it was only two weeks ago that we tried it at IFA. We did hear from Samsung that the company might change the back, but what we said about hardware and experience before remains true here. Sprint Samsung Galaxy Tab won't have 4G
Well, isn't this a bit sad -- the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be 3G-only. Ouch -- we'd definitely heard that Sprint's version of the Galaxy Tab would follow in the steps of the Epic 4G and have a WiMAX radio, but no dice, amigos. We're guessing Sprint won't be cheekily releasing a Tab case with a built-in Overdrive pocket, either.

Samsung Galaxy Tab official for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mo, Verizon
Samsung at its special event tonight confirmed plans to ship the Galaxy Tab to the US through all major carriers. AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon will all have versions of the seven-inch Android tablet. All of them will share the 1GHz processor, built-in 3G, front and back cameras and skinned Android 2.2 of the European edition.

Samsung Galaxy Tab WiFi-only version coming
After revealing that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will be coming to all four major US carriers, Samsung said that a WiFi only version will be coming soon. There was no word on pricing or availability of that one, but we're just excited at the fact that we may not have to sign a contract for one of these 7-inch tablets. Official: Samsung Galaxy Tab headed to AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon
That's right! Once again, Samsung's gotten all four of the major US carriers in its court -- and just as we'd heard, the 7-inch Galaxy Tab will be heading to Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile sometime during the October / November timeframe. We wish we had more to share on the availability part, but Samsung's leaving that and the pricing announcements to the carriers. RIM claims Torch had good launch, skeptical of work iPhones
RIM during the call discussing its latest results tried to downplay talk of threats to its business. It claimed that the launch of the BlackBerry Torch was the most successful launch of a GSM phone in RIM's history and created a "meaningful" increase in sales. Companies were speeding up their validation processes to get BlackBerry 6 devices like the Torch sooner, the company said.

Dell Studio XPS 15, XPS 17 rumored to be coming this fall
These aren't quite completely official just yet, but a pair of new Dell Studio XPS laptops have turned up on the French website LesDelliens.com, and Dell France has seemingly offered a confirmation of sorts that they'll soon be rolling out. The laptops in question include the Studio XPS 15 and Studio XPS 17 (seemingly successor to the XPS 13 and XPS 16 pictured above), which are said to pack Core i7 processors, an unspecified NVIDIA graphics card, and up to 8GB of RAM and a 750GB hard drive on the XPS 15, and up to 16GB of RAM and a 1.2TB hard drive on the XPS 17. Verizon won't carry Windows Phone 7 at launch
Verizon set out a major obstacle to Windows Phone 7's adoption today as it revealed that it won't have a Windows Phone 7 device on launch. Carrier spokeswoman Brenda Raney told Bloomberg that there would be no WP7 device at all on Verizon in 2010 and that there would "probably" be a model in 2011. She stressed that the death of the Kin hadn't soured the relationship, which was still "solid."
