New Star Games has announced Super Laser Racer will be available for purchase on July 24th. The game is an aerial view, combat-racing game inspired by Geometry Wars and Wipe Out. As promised, Apple has published the results of its fiscal third quarter, which ended June 27th. Total GAAP revenue is calculated to have been $8.34 billion, generating a net profit of $1.23 billion, and earnings per share of $1.35. Apple comments on factory worker death
Earlier today, reports out of China claimed factory worker Sun Danyong had jumped to his death following a Foxconn search of his apartment. He had been carrying 4th generation iPhone prototypes and had lost one of the 16 he was carrying. While this event is a tragedy, there no doubt will be many questions surrounding his death. Apple has been steadily moving its MacBook manufacturing away from Foxconn and to Quanta of late.

The Company posted revenue of $8.34 billion and a net quarterly profit of $1.23 billion, or $1.35 per diluted share. Sprint 4G in Atlanta, Portland and Vegas in August
Wireless provider Sprint on Tuesday announced that it will launch its WiMAX mobile broadband service concurrently in Atlanta, GA, Portland, OR and Las Vegas, NV starting in August. Kaufman supports iPhone pushing gross margins
The Kaufman Bros. research firm says it anticipates strong numbers from Apple's Q3 results, expected at 5PM Eastern. Motorola's Morrison Android phone looks familiar. Why?
Below is Motorola's new Android phone. But, it kinda looks like everyone's favorite Apple phone - one you'd mistakingly buy on the streets of Shenzen. Although, it does have a slide out keyboard which (has to be said) we've wished for on a few occasions.

Apple acknoledges Foxconn worker's suicide
Apple has confirmed the suicide of a Foxconn employee working in China, according to reports. Foxconn is one of Apple's largest manufacturing partners, responsible for assembling both the iPod and the iPhone. 32 nm engraving at Intel seems very efficient!
A person at site coolaler.com has managed to get his hands on a preproduction Intel Core i5 processor.
The processor runs at 3,06 GHz and is engraved in 32nm. It could also be overclocked, without any difficulty or additional cooling to run at 4 GHz.
This result is somewhat spectacular since it would have been obtained with a voltage on the processor of only 0,8V! As a comparison, the 3,06 GHz processor, such as the one in the latest Macbook Pro, needs a voltage of 1,15V. This 0,35V difference will, in the final analysis, make an enormous difference in the level of power consumption of the new CPU, since in the formula giving it, the voltage is squared.

Triple-shot TASER X3 imminent, deranged employees celebrate with mock executions
Sure, we love a good electric jolt to the face as much as the next guy, but perhaps the company is taking things a bit far with its new TASER X3 gun. UBS: iPhone 3GS should drive Q3 results
Apple's Q3 2009 results, set to be announced later today, should in large part be carried by the launch of the iPhone 3GS, says UBS analyst Maynard Um. Panasonic's EVOLTA bot sets his doe-eyed sights on new endurance record
After risking life and limb to show off Panasonic's double-As in a harrowing climb up the Grand Canyon, EVOLTA is back for more record setting hijinks. This time, however, he's been tasked to pedal his adorable little heart out on a miniature tricycle. The plan is to take this year's Le Mans race by storm and break some sort of world record for distance traveled by a robot -- though we're not sure how exactly that's defined, since EVOLTA isn't exactly a speed demon. A young Foxconn employee in China has committed suicide after a prototype model of a fourth-generation iPhone he was looking after went missing.
Digital Beat explains 25 year-old Sun Danyong had taken a job looking after product communications for long-time Apple manufacturer, Foxconn. Based in Shenzen, his job involved transporting iPhone prototypes from Foxconn to Apple.
Based on numerous Chinese reports, Digital Beat claims Sun was looking after 16 prototypes, hot off the Foxconn assembly line. He found one of these prototype fourth-gen iPhones was missing, and reported it as such on July 13.

Avaya kauft Nortel Networks für 475 Millionen Dollar den Bereich Enterprise Solutions ab. Dazu gehört das Geschäft mit Telefonielösungen und Unified Communications für Firmenkunden sowie der Bereich LAN-Switches. Gerücht: iPod touch kommt mit Kamera und Mikrofon
Gerüchte um eine in der nächsten iPod touch-Generation integrierte Kamera sind bereits seit dem Frühjahr im Umlauf. Basierend auf einer "gut unterrichteten Quelle" wird Wired jetzt konkreter: Ein neuer iPod touch mit Kamera und integriertem Mikrofon ist angeblich bereits in Produktion uns soll in den nächsten zwei bis drei Monaten auf den Markt kommen.
An einer Kameraintegration zweifelt ja dieser Tage kaum noch jemand, und auch das Mikrofon würde durchaus Sinn machen. Damit könnte man die von mit dem neuen iPhone 3GS eingeführte Sprachsteuerung auch mit dem iPod touch nutzen. Engraving in 32 nm at Intel seems very efficient!
A person at site coolaler.com has managed to get his hands on a preproduction Intel Core i5 processor.
The processor runs at 3,06 GHz and is engraved in 32nm. It could also be overclocked, without any difficulty or additional cooling to run at 4 GHz.
This result is somewhat spectacular since it would have been obtained with a voltage on the processor of only 0,8V! As a comparison, the 3,06 GHz processor, such as the one in the latest Macbook Pro, needs a voltage of 1,15V. This 0,35V difference will, in the final analysis, make an enormous difference in the level of power consumption of the new CPU, since in the formula giving it, the voltage is squared.

Use a MacBook Air Superdrive on another Mac
Last year we had shown that it was possible to change the USB bridge of Superdrive intended for MacBook Air to make it function with any Mac. Since then, we are not the only ones to try to simplify things and to use a software patch to do this.
A reader, Michael, found the way to do this, at least in an episodical way. If you connect this superdrive on something else besides the MacBook Air and you press the Alt key at startup to choose the boot disk, even if you choose the usual system disk, the Superdrive will be recognized and usable as long as you do not have to disconnect it or make a restart without pressing the Alt key again.
We remind you; Apple has decided to link it with the release of the MacBook Air because it is sold without margin, as a service accompanying this machine deprived of Superdrive.

Spielehersteller Namco wird zukünftig die Entwicklung von iPhone-Spielen mit einer eigenen Abteilung forcieren. Geleitet wird diese von Jonathan Kromrey, der vorher bei I-Play Mobile Gaming Erfahrungen sammeln konnte. Wired re-re-re-confirms the iPods with cameras
In case you hadn't already been convinced that the new iPod Touches will have a camera, Wired is throwing their hat into the ring. The information was reported initially by HardMac (MacBidouille) and again by iLounge with a mockup. Then we saw some new iPod touch cases with camera holes in them.

Israeli cable TV provider tries its hand at streaming games on demand
Although it won't beat OnLive out the gate -- assuming that company sticks to its winter 2009 target date -- Israeli cable TV provider Hot has unveiled its plans to provide streaming games on demand, with all the processing power done server-side so you can keep that weak cable box as is, thanks to technology from local company PlayCast. A trial program is in the cards for 1,000 customers, with access for everyone coming in early 2010. Maplewoods Associates has released its latest iPhone application, iFax. The software is used to send an unlimited number of faxes from an iPhone for free.
