Giant Cowboys Stadium LED wall caught playing Xbox 360 during downtime
The 72 x 160-foot LED wall at the center of the new Cowboys Stadium is certainly impressive enough when it's showing game highlights or concert footage, but no giant screen ever truly earns its credentials until it's been put to some real use: playing video games. Thankfully, Jonas Brothers video director Steve Fatone somehow pulled himself away from concert preparations to do just that earlier this week, and apparently became the first person to ever play Xbox 360 on the display in the process. As you can see above and in the gallery below, the two certainly seem to be made for each other, although it looks like the controller can get a tad touchy if you stray too far while trying to play it.[Thanks, Steve]

Benchmarks: iPhone 3G S schneller als Vorgänger, G1 und Palm Pre
Seit gestern befindet sich das iPhone 3G S auf dem Markt und auch diesmal bildeten sich die üblichen Schlangen vor einigen Geschäften. Obwohl sich die Neuerungen in Grenzen halten, dürfte das Gerät vor allem für Leute interessant sein, die noch kein iPhone 3G haben oder bereit sind, für die Restmonate des laufenden Vertrages Geld zu zahlen. Eine entscheidende Verbesserung gegenüber dem 3G ist das Tempo, mit dem das 3G S zu Werke geht.

ASUS' Eee PC 1005HA (the cooler, younger brother of the 1008HA) impressed us when we first caught a peep of it in the wild. iPhone 3G S data isn't really faster than the 3G's in Chicago
There's been talk the last couple days about the fact that there really isn't anywhere in the States to take advantage of the blazing 7.2Mbps downlink connection supported by the iPhone 3G S -- except for one great hope, one diamond in the rough that could become a shining destination for 3G S owners the world over. That destination would be Chicago, where AT&T fired up 7.2Mbps trials late last year, and the hope was that they might be letting lay folk (like us) in on the action in time for the 3G S release. Hackerparagraf: Verfassungsgericht weist Beschwerden zurück
Gestern hat das Bundesverfassungsgericht drei Beschwerden gegen den Paragrafen 202c des Strafgesetzbuches, den sogenannten Hackerparagrafen, zurückgewiesen. Damit wird der Besitz und Gebrauch von Software zum Auffinden von Sicherheitslücken in Computersystemen nicht generell unter Strafe gestellt, erklärte das Gericht.

Pwnage Tool for iPhone OS 3.0 now live, ultrasn0w still on standby
That iPhone OS 3.0 jailbreak we saw the iPhone Dev-Team pull off earlier this week? It's out now, or at least, part of it is. Pwnage Tool is now flooding torrents, but there's lots of caveats here. Most importantly, this isn't Ultrasn0w, which means if you're wanting to use your toy on T-Mobile or another unofficial carrier, be patient -- it's also worth noting that the jailbreak doesn't jibe with yellowsn0w, so those who rely on it should stay away for the time being. No compatibility with the 3G S, or at least, it probably hasn't been tested we wouldn't recommend anyone setting the precedent here. You'll need Mac OS X to run it, with QuickPwn for Mac and Windows coming further down

Jailbreak für iPhone OS 3.0 verfügbar
Nur wenige Tage nach der offiziellen Einführung von OS 3.0 (Build 7A341) für iPhone und iPod Touch hat das iPhone Dev Team gestern Abend das Pwnage-Tool für Mac OS vorgestellt, das den freien Zugriff auf das Dateisystem von iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G und iPod Touch 1G realisiert. Das seit gestern erhältliche Modell 3G S und der iPod Touch 2G werden von dem Programm noch nicht unterstützt. Ebenso ist es zurzeit nicht möglich, den Sim/Net-Lock des iPhone 3G zu umgehen. Das ist nur mit dem iPhone der ersten Generation möglich.

Steve Jobs had a liver transplant two months ago - WSJ.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Steve Jobs traveled to Tennessee to have a liver transplant around two months ago. He is recovering well and is expected to return to work on schedule later this month, though he may work part-time initially.
Bloomberg originally reported that Jobs was considering a liver transplant on January 16th. They cited people monitoring his illness and said it was a result of complications after treatment for pancreatic cancer in 2004. When contacted by Bloomberg, Jobs said: “Why don’t you guys leave me alone -- why is this important?”

Steve Jobs: Lebertransplantation im April, Rückkehr noch diesen Monat
Vor zwei Monaten hätte sich Apple-CEO Steve Jobs einer Lebertransplantaton unterzogen, vermeldet das Wall Street Journal. Mit seiner Rückkehr sei noch diesen Monat zu rechnen, “und mehr ist dazu nicht zu sagen”, zitiert das WSJ die Apple-Sprecherin Katie Cotton.

Apple verteilt neuen 10.5.8-Build 9L16
Apple testet seit der WWDC vor zwei Wochen das nächste Minor-Update für Mac OS X: 10.5.8. Gestern wurde ein neuer Build dieses nächsten Updates an die Entwickler verteilt. In Build 9L16 sollen sich die Entwickler vor allem auf die Bereiche AirPort, ColorSync, AppKit, AddressBook, Safari und USB fokussieren. Bisher wurden 27 Fehler behoben und Änderungen vorgenommen, mit dem neuen Build kommen 10 weitere Punkte dazu. Die kompletten Seed-Notes gibt’s wie immer bei World of Apple.

WSJ: Steve Jobs unterzog sich einer Lebertransplantation
Das Wall Street Journal berichtet, dass sich Steve Jobs vor etwas mehr als zwei Monaten einer Lebertransplantation unterzogen hat, nachdem es zu weiteren Komplikationen in Folge des Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebses gekommen war. Nun hat Apple schneller reagiert als nach vier Jahren: Gestern veröffentlichte das Wall Street Journal die Nachricht, dass Steve Jobs vor zwei Monaten eine neue Leber erhalten habe. Close to 700,000 Palm Pre apps downloaded to date
There may not be a ton of Pre apps available just yet, but it looks like there's enough to accumulate an impressive 666,511 downloads as of June 17th, which likely means that we're close to or past the 700,000 mark by now. As you can see above in graph form courtesy of Medialets, things have been rising steadily as more and more apps became available, and there's no noticeable sign of a drop-off even as apps remained around the 30 mark after the end of the first week. Touch/iPhone-Jailbreak für OS 3.0
Im Dev-Team Blog wurde das Jailbreak-Tool "redsn0w" in Versionen für Mac und Windows veröffentlicht. Laut Beschreibung lassen sich damit das Ur-iPhone, das iPhone 3G sowie beide iPod touch-Generationen jailbreaken.

Schweiz mit 76% Breitband Abdeckung
Nach einer neuen Statistik von Strategy Analytics bezüglich ‘Breitband-Anschlüsse in einem Land’ ist die Schweiz gut positioniert. Anders als die meisten solcher Statistiken hat Strategy Analytics nicht die Anschlüsse pro Person, sondern pro Haushalt berücksichtigt. Firefox 3.5 RC2 für jedermann zum Download
Nachdem sich der vor wenigen Tagen veröffentliche erste Release Candidate des neuen Firefox 3.5 noch an Betatester gerichtet hatte, steht die zweite Version jetzt für alle zum Download bereit. Best Buy iPhone inventory posted to the Web
According to EverythingCafe, a Best Buy employee downloaded the entire iPhone 3G S inventory broken out by store and model, popped it on his USB stick and took it home. He/she then uploaded it to Google docs for all to see. If you are planning on hitting a Best Buy, you might want to see which store has the most iPhones in the model that you want before camping out on line.

iPhone 3G S Line Liveblog?
If there is anything more interesting than waiting in a line, it is watching a liveblog of people waiting in a line. CNET's got you covered if that is your thing today as they cover people waiting in like for the third generation iPhone 3G S.
We're not going to hear any new specs or features but maybe, just maybe, the activation servers will get overloaded and cause people to have to wait longer. We're betting that Best Buys run out while the Apple Store line keeps up for most of the day.
