Aldi-Notebook mit Office 2007 und Pentium T2330
Aldi bringt zum 19. März 2008 ein Notebook mit Intels älterem Dual-Core-Pentium T2330 mit 1,6 GHz und 1 MByte L2-Cache sowie einem FSB mit 533 MHz auf den Markt. Die Ausstattung ist ansonsten mit 2 GByte Hauptspeicher einem 15,4 Zoll großes Display und WLAN mit 802.11n-Draft zeitgemäß. Als Besonderheit ist eine Vollversion von Microsoft Office 2007 (Home & Student) dabei. (Aldi-PC, Notebook)

Mac Pro Rev2: How to install the memory cards
Many users have told us that they have met problems with their Mac Pro rev 2 and the memory. Up to now there have not been this type of problem. It is simply that the order of installation of the memory cards has changed for the Mac Pro rev 2, and if you do not respect these rules you will have problems concerning the recognition of memory. Thus here, pulled from the documentation of these machines is the order to follow:
If you have only two memory cards, you must put one in the top riser and one in the bottom. as with the ancient Mac Pro. Beyond this, things change. It is necessary to put your pairs of cards side by side, and not distribute them on the two connectors.
Thus, another more visible example, if you have 3 pairs of cards, you will put two of them 2 in the top and only one in bottom.

Airport 5.3.1 utility and the old base stations
Airport 5.3.1 utility has a bug. It has a hard time to see the old base stations g. Usually it just ignores them, making access and configuration of the base station impossible. If you make an initilisation of the base station, it just makes things more complicated since it resets it to the factory default and then it can not be regulated.
Since we lack confidence in the Apple updates, we have duplicated version 5.3 before the 5.3.1 update. We have put it on our servers after the reports of our readers, and await for Apple to find a solution.

Attention, it works with Leopard. We do not know if it works with Tiger.

iriver's E100 reviewed before it hits American soil

Perhaps this is some sort of elaborate hoax, maybe it's an epidemic of iPod touch coffee stains, or perhaps this player really just is this hard to photograph. Apple keeps promise, angers many
An outcry of criticism rocked Cupertino yesterday as optimistic iPhone application developers complained the company had done exactly what it said it would - rejecting thousands from its new iPhone Developer Program.
Reports claim thousands of developers both small and large have applied to join the scheme, but the vast majority have been rejected, generating this hail of criticism.
The reports ignore Apple's earlier promise that it would accept only a limited number of developers for its iPhone Developer Program at this point.
"During the beta iPhone SDK program, a limited number of developers will be accepted into Apple’s new iPhone Developer Program and offered the ability to get code onto iPhones for testing," the company said in a March 6 press release.
Developers want to be able to test in-development software on an iPhone so they can be ready to ship these solutions when Apple opens the doors to third party applications in June.

Whirlpool's green kitchen concept fuels other devices

This whole "turning waste into fuel" idea has certainly gained a lot of traction lately, and it seems that Whirlpool is next in line to show off a concept that could purportedly hack down your energy bill (and give Mother Earth some love, too). Apple developing quad-core MacBook Pro
Apple may introduce a quad-core MacBook Pro this year, as Intel has confirmed plans to ship Core 2 Duo-based quad-core processors later in the year.
The company has developed these processors for use in high-performance laptops, which it sees as portable replacements for powerful desktop systems.
We know Apple won't comment on future products or speculation, but the new processors are expected to appear in the third quarter. The processor is manufactured using the 45-nanometer process. It's likely the chips will feature on-board support for WiFi and WiMax.

Apple angers thousands by keeping promise
An outcry of criticism hit Cupertino yesterday as optimistic iPhone application developers complained that the company had done exactly what it said it would do - rejected thousands from its new iPhone Developer Program.

There reports seem to ignore that Apple said it would only accept a limited number of applications for the iPhone Developer Program at this point.

Pro und Contra des App Store für Entwickler

Apple TV: DVR und Live-TV könnte Set-Top-Lösung lukrativ machen

CoverFlow in Safari nutzen
Mit der Einführung von Mac OS X 10.5 landete eine optisch ansprechende Funktion aus iTunes auch im Betriebssystem selber. CoverFlow ist nun auch im Finder zu finden und verrichtet seinen Dienst dort wie man es von iTunes her gewohnt ist. Mit dem kleinen kostenlosen Plugin "SafariStand" kann man diese Funktion auch in Apples Browser verwenden.

iPhone mit 16GB ausverkauft
Erst vor kurzem berichteten wir bereits darüber, dass das iPhone mit 16GB bei T-Mobile erst am 22. April flächendeckend zu haben sein soll. Dies deckt sich mit den neuesten Meldungen, dass selbst die kleine Anzahl an Geräten bereits verkauft worden sei. Laut Telekom-Sprecher Alexander von Schmettow wird man das Modell erst in vier Wochen wieder liefern können.

Altec Lansing bringt iPhone-fähiges Lautsprechersystem
Lautsprechersysteme für den iPod gibt es wie Sand am Meer. Für das iPhone hingegen, war das bis vor kurzen nicht wirklich ausreichend der Fall. Jailbreak: Abhilfe bei "SPAMMING AT"

Intel reveals plans for quad-core laptop CPUs

It looks like your favorite lap burner will get all quad-ified this year, thanks to the folks at Intel, and a little something we call "enthusiast pressure." The hot-to-the-touch CPU rumor mill claims that we'll see the quad-core, 45nm QX9300 hit the scene after the Centrino 2 (aka Montevina) chips are launched in the second quarter of the year. The general feeling is that the quad-equipped laptops will primarily be heavier, desktop-replacement systems, as the Core 2 Extreme processors are still fairly power hungry. Es wurde schon viel spekuliert – man war sich sicher und man war sich wieder nicht so sicher, wann denn nun der Vista-Nachfolger Windows 7 (Codename Vienna) erscheinen soll.
