LG zeigt auf der CeBIT zahlreiche Monitor-Neuheiten mit mattem Display für die Bereiche Office, Multimedia und CAD/CAM. LG vermutlich noch bis Ende des Jahres mit HD DVD
Im Rahmen unseres CeBIT-Gesprächs erfuhren wir von LG, dass das Unternehmen – abhängig von der Nachfrage auf Kundenseite – vermutlich noch bis Ende des Jahres Laufwerke ausliefern wird, die HD DVDs abspielen können. Mit diesem Schritt möchte man den Bedarf jener decken, die aktuell noch HD DVDs nutzen.

Refurb iPods price drop from Apple ...retail prices to follow?
We've seen this before. Apple, when they are about to do price drops start pushing the refurb prices way south. Today the Apple Store dropped the refurbished 4Gb Nanos to $129 and the 8Gb ones to $169.
The iPod Classics dropped even further to $209 for 80Gb and $299 for 160Gb.
iPod Touches? $229 for 8Gb and $329 for 16Gb.

Euro Xbox 360 price cuts landing Monday?

Well it appears that the Financial Times Germany is reporting that this Monday, Microsoft will trim the fat from the Arcade and Pro consoles, shaving €80 and €50 off the price tag, respectively. Of course, right now this is still unconfirmed by the boys in Redmond (or in any other official location), though the buzz in the community does seem to suggest that these cuts are coming. OLED-Fernseher lassen weiter auf sich warten
Wie bereits auf der CES im Januar, gibt es auch in Hannover auf der CeBIT lediglich Prototypen von OLED-Fernsehern mit marktüblichen Bildschirmdiagonalen – von produktionsreifen Geräten fehlt jede Spur. Joseph Weizenbaum - eine Computerlegende ist gestorben
Bereits 1966 konnten sich Menschen mit einem Computer unterhalten: Das von Joseph Weizenbaum geschaffene Programm ELIZA machte es anscheinend möglich. Doch ELIZA suchte nur nach Schlüsselworten und wählte daraufhin vorgefertigte Antwortsätze aus. Weizenbaum wollte damit zeigen, dass Maschinen nie die Intelligenz des Menschen erreichen können. Bis heute behielt er Recht. Am 5. März 2008 starb der Computerkritiker im Alter von 85 Jahren an den Folgen eine Schlaganfalls in seiner Heimatstadt Berlin.

Intel has patented the concept of an on-chip detector of cosmic rays which would auto-correct for soft errors caused by the cosmic ray's interference.
