Voyager Mobile shakes off network issues, launches a few days behind schedule

It's tough being the new kid in town -- ask Voyager Mobile, an up and coming MVNO that had its launch delayed by a "malicious network attack" last week. The tenacious firm may have missed its planned May 15th launch, but managed to pull things together in time for the weekend, piggybacking unlimited talk, text and data off of Sprint's CDMA and WiMAX network for $40 a month. A basic unlimited voice plan is also available to the tune of $20, without data allowances, of course.

Flashback-K malware breaks down; no payment for creators

After possibly infecting up to 1.8 percent of the Macintosh population with a click-fraud macro through a Java vulnerability, the Flashback creators won't get paid despite their efforts, reports Computerworld. Following a coordinated security effort between antivirus vendors and security experts, remote malicious orders were blocked or prevented from effecting an estimated peak 600,000 infected computers. Apple joined the fray late, but provided patches and a removal tool for the malware.

Customs slowly letting HTC handsets into the US, can't say which ones

Apple zensiert vorübergehend “Jailbreak”

Ein Versehen oder Übermut der AppStore-Wächter hat in der vergangenen Woche dazu geführt, dass das Suchwort “Jailbreak” nur in zensierter Form bei iTunes angezeigt wurde. Inzwischen ist der Spuk vorüber, aber eine Jailbreak-App findet sich – Überraschung – immer noch nicht in Apples Store. Dass bei dem Wort “Jailbreak” allein bei Apple die Alarmglocken leuchten, dürfte kaum überraschen. Schließlich liefert sich Cupertino mit jeder neuen iOS-Version ein Rennen mit Hackern, die immer schneller eine Umgehung des aktuellen Betriebssystems finden. Apple files to block Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales in US

On the heels of an appeals court win that suggested that Samsung should have been barred from selling its copycat Galaxy 10.1 from the get-go, Apple has now filed a motion for a new injunction against the tablet asking it to be pulled from US shelves. The two companies are scheduled to begin high-level settlement talks on Monday, but should they fail the new injunction request could be ruled on as early as June 7.
