Old Sierra On-Line games now available on iPad via the web

Get ready to lose your weekend. As we reported it would a while back, Sarien.net is now offering up a whole slew of old Sierra On-Line games, playable through your iPad's web browser for free. The first three King's Quest games, the first two Police Quest games, and even a Leisure Suit Larry title are all online and available. New code found within the first iOS 4.3 beta suggests Apple is planning to incorporate the POWERVR SGX543 GPU from Imagination Technologies into an upcoming product or products. ARMdevices: ARM-based Google TV platform 'confirmed' and coming soon

Well, it looks like Windows might not be the only new territory for ARM in 2011 -- ARMdevices is reporting that it has it on "very high authority from someone at Google" that an ARM-powered Google TV platform is "confirmed" and "coming soon." Verizon CEO Ian Seidenberg sat down with Charlie Rose of Business Week and confirmed that Verizon was never in the running for the original iPhone. Twitter for Mac lets you tweet from anywhere in Mac OS X

Here's a nifty feature of the recently-released Twitter for Mac. It adds a contextual menu option to Mac OS X 10.6.6 for super-easy tweeting. Just highlight a bit of text, right-click (or Control-click if that is your wont) and select "Tweet" from the contextual options. Twitter for Mac will produce a compose window with your selected text intact. We've found that it works in Safari, Chrome, iCal, OmniFocus, TextMatepretty much any Cocoa app that supports contextual menus (but not Microsoft Office apps). Some of the first iPhone 5 part details have emerged on Friday with insight into its launch timing. Taiwan's Kinsus is reportedly supplying 30 to 40 percent of the substrates for the Qualcomm chipsets that will provide cellular access. Rovi sues Amazon and IMDb for allegedly copying TV guides

Rovi Corp. is suing Amazon and its subsidiary IMDb. Rovi, formally known as Macrovision, acquired Gemstar-TV guide in 2008 and in doing so picked up a number of patents pertaining to delivering TV Guides online. Roviís suit, filed in Delaware, claims that IMDbís TV guides infringe five of its patents. Garmin updates StreetPilot app with improvements and fixes

If you follow my reviews you know I had mixed emotions about the newly released iPhone Garmin StreetPilot. Chief among my complaints was an incredibly tinny and distorted voice. I'm happy to report that after an update the voice sounds much better and is now useful. Garmin has also increased the size of the map storage buffer, so you can see more of your previously downloaded maps without having to download them again. Voice instructions can now be toggled on or off, and there's a volume control on the main map menu for easy access. There are also some unspecified bug fixes.
