Untethered Jailbreak für iPhone 4S und iPad 2 nun auch für Windows verfügbar

Samsung-Klage vom Mannheimer Landgericht abgewiesen

47% of US smartphones are Android, most aren't researched

A new study from iGR has suggested that Android might be dominant in the US but that many of those buying weren't making a conscious choice for the platform. About 47 percent of the smartphone base in the country reportedly was using Android, but only 45 percent of those were knowledgeable about Google's OS and chose it by name. Another 27 percent picked their phones based on Google's reputation.

Apple's opportunity to expand retail into India

The Wall Street Journal's Livemint blog reports that Apple may be considering opening up retail operations in India as soon as it possibly can, following a new governmental ruling in that country that foreign companies can indeed open and own retail stores. Apple's been poking around India for a while -- the company reportedly thought about opening a call support center there a few years ago, but eventually decided not to. As you can see above, the new Behringer mixers make full use of both the standard mixer console controls, as well as Apple's tablet, sitting in as a touchscreen-based software mixer. Sony may move li-ion battery production outside of Japan

Sony is looking to export its lithium-ion battery production from Japan, the country's Asahi paper claimed Saturday. While the base parts would still be made in Japan, actual production of the cellphone- and car-oriented batteries would go to China and Singapore. Im Rahmen der Digital Marketing Insights Studie nahmen die Marktforscher zahlreiche Online-Shops genauer unter die Lupe und stellten dabei wichtige Erkenntnisse fest, die den elektronischen Geschäftsverkehr betreffen.Adobe beschäftigte sich dazu mit den 150 erfolgreichsten US-amerikanischen Online-Shops, die im Testzeitraum rund 16 Milliarden Besucher aufweisen konnten. Kelkoo prognostiziert EU-weit 16 Prozent mehr Online-Einkäufe im Jahr 2012

Immer mehr Menschen in der EU füllen ihren Warenkorb per Mausklick. Der Shopping- und Preisvergleichsdienst Kelkoo schätzt, dass die Zahl der Online-Einkäufe von 200 Milliarden Euro im Jahr 2011 in diesem Jahr auf 232 Milliarden Euro wachsen wird. Das wäre ein Anstieg von 16 Prozent. Im letzten Jahr waren es sogar 18 Prozent. Das klingt beeindruckend, aber wieviel Prozent aller Einkäufe werden im Internet abgewickelt? In der gesamten EU sind es 7,8 Prozent. Den höchsten Anteil steuert Großbritannien mit 12 Prozent bei, Deutschland folgt mit 9 Prozent, die Schweiz mit 8,7 Prozent und Norwegen mit 8,1 Prozent. Pardon us Americans as we act surprised, but it turns out that we have one more thing in common with our Euro brethren: a growing number of us dislike shopping in stores. According to Kelkoo estimates, online spending in the European Union is projected to continue its upward trend, which is said to reach somewhere in the neighborhood of $232 billion before year's end. Study claims iPad use improved algebra scores by 20 percent

Backing up some of the arguments made by Apple during its presentation yesterday on the advantages of e-textbooks, publisher Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) announced encouraging results from its pilot test of a digital Algebra I textbook running on iPads versus traditional textbooks. Following encouraging early results, the spring 2011 California Standards Test showed roughly a 20 percent improvement with students using the app over those using textbooks.

Apple claims to own patents Kodak is using to get loans

Apple in an objection (PDF) late this week hoped to stop Kodak from getting some loans to recover from its bankruptcy status based on patent disputes. The iPhone producer asserted that Kodak, in using its patents as collateral, was using "certain patents" for digital camera technology that were either Apple's or were still the subject of lawsuits. Kodak had "misappropriated" Apple technology and tried to patent it on its own, Apple said, prompting the 2010 countering lawsuit.
