Es klappt tatsächlich noch in diesem Jahr, wenn auch nur knapp. Electronic Arts und BioWare haben den offiziellen Veröffentlichungstermin für Star Wars: The Old Republic festgelegt. Motorola LTE handset emerges with qHD Super AMOLED display, questionable identity

Well, what do we have here? According to "trusted sources" over at This Is My Next it's a Motorola Spyder, or a Droid RAZR, or maybe even the Droid HD we peeped back in August. Google has appointed an executive specifically to integrate newly acquired Motorola. After poaching Groupon COO Margo Georgiadis to become its Americas president, Google has shifted current president Dennis Woodside to working directly with Motorola CEO Sanjay Jha. Verizon wants denial of Apple's preliminary ban on Samsung

Verizon on Friday filed an amicus brief asking a Northern District of California court to deny Apple's request for a preliminary ban on Samsung devices at the upcoming October 13 hearing. It contends that the ban, which for Verizon would block the Droid Charge and Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE, would "hinder" the development and rollout of its LTE-based 4G network. iTunes Match beta data to reset on Monday

Late last night, Apple registered developers who are participating in the iTunes Match beta were notified that their test data will be zapped from orbit. Apple's email to devs was brief and to the point: To continue to improve the overall quality and reliability of iTunes Match, it has become necessary to delete all current iCloud libraries. All iCloud libraries will be deleted on Monday, September 26th at 9AM PDT. To prepare, please turn off iTunes Match on all of your computers and iOS devices. On your computer, choose Store > Turn off iTunes Match. On your iOS device, tap Settings > Music, then turn off iTunes Match. Of course, beta is beta, and unless those participating in the test have actually deleted their music files from their computers in favor of cloud storage only, they won't lose anything but sync time. This sort of mass reset may foreshadow the wider introduction of the Match service.

iTunes Match cloud library reset now due September 26

Apple has told those developers currently subscribing to the beta-era iTunes Match that it will reset the cloud side of their libraries on the morning of September 26 at 12PM Eastern. Early adopters are being asked to turn off the feature on any of the beta iTunes and iOS 5 clients before the reset arrives. It's not evident how long the reset process would take.

Sony offers 'adjustment' for NEX-5N camera to reduce clicking sound while recording video

Looks like we weren't the only one afflicted by the Sony NEX-5N camera's annoying click problem. In case you missed it, the camera displayed the annoying tendency of producing an audible click loud enough to ruin any 1080/60p video if it was moved suddenly while shooting. While getting ready for my husband's move to the US from the UK, we've both been digitizing our DVD collections so it's less for him to haul, and I gain extra room for what he does bring. What I'm using to tag the files for easy browsing in iTunes and on the Apple TV is MetaX. We wrote a tutorial on using the meta-tagging program in 2009, and it pretty much holds true still in Lion. Drag a video file into the program and you can search for associated tags through tagChimp and Amazon, or write your own.
