Eigentlich sollte die finale Version des Firefox 5.0 erst am Dienstag erscheinen, doch fertig ist sie bereits. Momentan wird sie auf die einzelnen Mirrors verteilt – man kann sie aber bereits herunterladen und verwenden. Wir sagen euch, wo ihr sie findet.

Westinghouse announces its first 3D HDTV, coming to a discount department store near you
Just 18 short months after 3D made its big HDTV debut at CES 2010, Westinghouse is finally ready to make its own entry into the third dimension, with the 47-inch W47S2TCD. Like most Westinghouse sets, there's really nothing special to make this rather generic TV pop (until you toss on one of the four included pairs of 3D glasses), but you will be getting a passive 1080p 3D display, 3:2 pulldown, three-way selectable color temperature, and a backlight enhancement tool called DayBright. kino.to-Razzia: Konten und Autos beschlagnahmt
In Folge der Schließung des Online-Portals kino.to haben die Fahnder erste Konten und Luxuskarossen beschlagnahmt. Receipt Racer makes printing fun, wastes more paper than you ever thought possible (video)

TiVo hints Android, iPhone apps due soon
The latest issue of CEPro's magazine has given away apparent plans by TiVo to expand its mobile apps beyond the iPad version. A full-page ad pitching the Premiere XL to custom installers mentions that TiVo has been developing apps for "the iPhone and Android OS products" alongside the iPad title. Tip has new Mac minis, Mac Pros in late July or early August
Sources told Brian Tong Sunday afternoon that new Mac minis and redesigned Mac Pros should arrive either in late July or early August. The historically accurate CNET staffer was given only a few details but was told they would use both Sandy Bridge-era Intel processors and Thunderbolt ports. Rumor: New Mac Pros and Mac Minis in August, CNet says
CNet's Brian Tong announced via Twitter that Apple is preparing to debut new Mac Pros and Mac Minis in August. Tong added that both models are expected to have Thunderbolt and Sandy Bridge processors, urging people to wait before buying new machines.

HP TouchPad rumored to lack document editing at launch

Flare for the iPhone is an interesting app for video hobbyists, notable for the technical wizardry on display. It can shoot video with a quasi-HDR effect and do it in real time. It isn't easy to apply filtering effects on the fly, and that's just what Flare does.

Google kauft SageTV HTPC-Software, nächster Halt Google TV?

Nintendo: Es wird nur einen Wii U-Controller pro Konsole geben

Die Wii U-Konsole wird laut Aussage von Nintendo-Chef Satoru Iwata nur mit einem der tabletartigen Controller funktionieren, auch wenn technisch gesehen zwei möglich wären. Der Grund sei, dass die Controller im Einzelverkauf zu teuer würden. Die Konsole werde deswegen nur mit einem Controller ausgeliefert, und Entwickler sollten ihre Spiele unter der Annahme entwerfen, dass jede Konsole nur mit einem einzelnen Wii U-Controller benutzt werde. Der zweite Spieler wird auf die gute alte Wiimote zurückgreifen müssen.

Offiziell wird die Finalversion wie vorgesehen erst am kommenden Dienstag, dem 21. Juni, veröffentlicht werden, und wer auf Nummer Sicher gehen möchte, sollte laut Mozilla die bis dann erfolgte letzte Überprüfung der Dateien noch abwarten. Neu bei Firefox 5 sind unter anderem die Unterstützung von CSS-Animationen und die verbesserte Do-Not-Track-Funktion.

Google trademarks Photovine, hints at new photo-sharing service
Well, it looks like Google's got the online rumor mill churning with its latest trademark application. Back on June 7th, El Goog filed a USPTO application for the name Photovine, sending sparks flying down the, er, grapevine about a possible photo-sharing program. The application cites a service dedicated to the "transmission of visual images and data by telecommunications networks, wireless communication networks, the Internet, information services networks and data networks." Google acquires SageTV in likely push to rekindle Google TV
SageTV in a notice to its users said on Saturday that it had been bought out by Google. The open-source home theater software developer said it signed onboard because of a "shared vision for open technology" that would move their Internet-focused experience. New York Post blocks iPads on web to force app subscriptions
The New York Post took a risky move to try and push iPad readers to its native iPad app. Those who try to visit the home page from mobile Safari, even from an alternate link, are redirected to a page linking to the app. Desktop users and even other mobile platforms, like Android, don't face the same limit.

Sage TV HTPC software acquired by Google, next stop Google TV?
In what may be an interesting development for the future of Google TV, the folks at Mountain View have purchased SageTV. The HTPC software has been doing its media center thing on multiple platforms since 2002, and according to a note on its homepage the developers "believe our ideas will reach an even larger audience of users worldwide on many different products, platforms and services." While there's no word on exactly what Google has planned, Sage TV has long included DVR and placeshifting features that the Google TV product lacks by itself. Use Mailsmith to create a "send-only" email account
How many times have you gone to send an email, only to be distracted or even derailed by something that you found in your Inbox? I found a solution which is completely free, integrates completely with OS X, and which guarantees that it won't happen to me again. I even found a (partial) solution for iOS devices as well.
The Problem
One night around 11 p.m. I remembered that I needed to send an email to someone so it would be there for them first thing in the morning, so I launched Gmail (actually Mailplane) as I started to formulate the message in my head as I waited for it to load. Then it happened. I saw a message from someone that I wished I hadn't seen. I could have tried to ignore it, but my brain isn't fooled that easily.
