Nothing in my life brings more stress than worrying about water leaks. Especially during the coldest part of winter, thinking about freezing pipes bursting, etc, it somewhat keeps me up at night. I have written before about how much I rely on water leak sensors to ensure I don’t have leaks that I’m unaware of.
While “puck” style sensors are awesome for slipping under a sink, they have a fatal flaw: water has to touch that specific 1-inch spot to trigger an alert. If the leak starts six inches to the left, you might not know until your floorboards are already warping. This week, I am taking a look at the new Shelly Flood Gen4 sensor.

Apple Cash Instant Transfers will cost more for faster withdrawals
Apple will raise the fee for Apple Cash Instant Transfers to 1.7% starting in mid-February, increasing the maximum charge while leaving slower bank transfers free.Apple CashApple updated the Apple Cash Terms and Conditions on January 23 to reflect a higher fee for Instant Transfers to an eligible debit card. Beginning February 18, Instant Transfers will cost 1.7% of the transaction amount, up from 1.5%, with a $0.25 minimum and a $25 maximum.The change applies only to Instant Transfers initiated from Apple Cash through the Wallet app. Standard bank transfers using the Automated Clearing House network will continue to be offered at no cost. Apple Cash Instant Transfer Fees Are Going Up Soon
Apple today began notifying Apple Cash users about an upcoming fee increase for the Instant Transfer feature. Starting on February 18, 2026, choosing the Instant Transfer option will cost 1.7 percent of the transaction amount, with a minimum of $0.25 and a maximum of $25.
Instant Transfer is the Apple Cash option that allows you to transfer money from Apple Cash to your bank account with no waiting period. The current fee is 1.5 percent of the transaction amount, with the same $0.25 minimum fee and a lower $15 maximum fee.
Using Instant Transfer to deposit $1,000 from Apple Cash to a bank account currently requires users to pay a $15 fee, for example, but that will increase to $17 after February 18.
An ACH transfer that takes one to three business days will continue to have no fee, and that is always an option for Apple Cash users.
Transferring money from Apple Cash to a bank account can be done by choosing the Apple Cash card in the Wallet app, tapping on the three-dot more button, and then sel

You can now create AI-generated coloring books in Microsoft Paint
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella recently went on record saying that AI still needs to prove its worth if society is to adopt it long-term, but he presumably thinks his company has cracked it with its latest innovation: AI coloring books.
A new Microsoft Paint feature currently rolling out to Windows Insiders allows you to generate coloring book pages based on the text prompt you enter. The example Microsoft uses is "a cute fluffy cat on a donut," to which the AI tool will spit out a set of slightly different options based on your prompt.
You can then choose which image you want, add it to your current workspace, copy or save it. Presumably you can also print it out for the purpose of entertaining your kids. No doubt the kind of real-world impact the Microsoft chief was alluding to.
The coloring book feature is exclusive to Copilot+ PCs, and Microsoft is also adding a fill tolerance slider that lets you adjust the precision with which the Fill tool adds color to your canvas.

Ring can now verify if a video has been altered
Ring has launched a new tool that can tell you if a video clip captured by its camera has been altered or not. The company says that every video downloaded from Ring starting in December 2025 going forward will come with a digital security seal. “Think of it like the tamper-evident seal on a medicine bottle,” it explained. Its new tool, called Ring Verify, can tell you if a video has been altered in any way. Even adjusting a video clip’s brightness or trimming a few seconds off will break that seal, and the tool will tell you that it cannot be verified. All you have to do is visit the tool’s web page and upload the video you want to check. In the era of AI, you can also use the tool to make sure you’re looking at a real Ring video instead of something generated by artificial intelligence models. The App Store will start showing multiple ads in search results beginning in March
At the end of last year, Apple announced that it was expanding App Store search ads beyond the single promoted placement at the top of the results. Instead, developer paying for promotion in App Store search can now have their apps appear further down the search results list, mixed in with the usual stream of organic results.
Apple has now confirmed that this will go into effect beginning March 3, starting the UK and Japan, with a rollout across all Apple Ads markets by the end of the month.
