Die aktuelle Betaphase läuft zwar bereits seit sechs Wochen, allerdings hatte die Weihnachtspause für eine Unterbrechung gesorgt. Am heutigen Abend steht nun die dritte Beta zur Verfügung, welche weiterhin noch dem Zweiwochentakt folgt. Vermutlich markiert die vierte Beta dann jedoch den Wechsel in den schnellen Releasezyklus.

Apple Releases iOS 26.2.1 With AirTag 2 Support
Apple today released iOS 26.2.1 and iPadOS 26.2.1, minor updates to the iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 operating systems. The new software comes a month after Apple released iOS 26.2 and iPadOS 26.2.
The new software can be downloaded on eligible iPhones and iPads over-the-air by going to Settings > General > Software Update.
iOS 26.2.1 adds support for the next-generation AirTag that Apple introduced today. The AirTag 2 features a second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, improving the Precision Finding feature.
The update also addresses bugs and offers security fixes.
Apple has also released iOS 18.7.4, iOS 16.7.13, iOS 15.8.6, and iOS 12.5.8 for older iPhones unable to run iOS 26. Der knapp 80 Euro teure TomTom Tom im Test: Für den Blitzerwarner sprechen seine sehr unkomplizierte Einrichtung, eine einfach gestaltete App, die auch als Navigationsgerät herhält und sein kompaktes, wertiges Gehäuse.
In der Praxis sind wir enttäuscht, dass er vor vielen mobilen Radarfallen nicht warnt, weil er sie schlichtweg nicht in seiner Datenbank gelistet hat. Auf der Autobahn kommt die Warnung immer wieder zu kurzfristig – hier fehlt eine Einstellungsmöglichkeit für frühere Warnungen. Kurzum: Der TomTom Tom fährt dem Ooono CoDriver NO2 hinterher und wird ihn angesichts der Datenlage wohl nicht so schnell überholen können. Zumal wir es für wahrscheinlich halten, dass Ooono weiterhin sein Produkt optimiert. Vielleicht ist ja der nächste Schritt KI-gestützte Auswertungen?

The EU is investigating Grok and X over potentially illegal deepfakes
Europe is probing Elon Musk’s X for failing to take action to prevent the spread of AI-generated sexually explicit images including child sexual abuse material (CSAM), regulators said in a press release. The European Commission’s investigation could result in “further enforcement steps” against X, not long after it levied a $140 million fine against the platform. “Sexual deepfakes of women and children are a violent, unacceptable form of degradation. With this investigation, we will determine whether X has met its legal obligations under the DSA [Digital Services Act], or whether it treated rights of European citizens — including those of women and children — as collateral damage of its service,” said the Commission’s executive VP, Henna Virkkunen in a statement.The EU said that it will assess whether X took measures to reduce risks around the dissemination of illegal content when it deployed Grok onto the platform.
