Apple expands USB charger trade-in program to 30 countries
On August 6th, Apple announced it would initiate a USB Power Adapter Takeback Program in response to safety issues with some counterfeit USB power adapters for iOS devices. The program will allow users to buy an Apple USB power adapter for only US$10 if they trade in one of their counterfeit units.
The program was originally only available in the US and China. However, just six days later Apple expanded the program to customers in Japan, Canada, Australia, France

Apple releases iTunes 11.0.5 with bug fixes
Apple has released a small update to iTunes that fixes playback and iCloud issues. According to the description accompanying the update, the iTunes 11.0.5 release:
corrects an issue with iTunes in the Cloud, where some purchases may download or play unexpected items.

Apple begins graphic card replacement program for mid-2011 27-inch iMac
Apple has begun a graphics card replacement program for the 27-inch mid-2011 iMac, reports 9to5Mac. The news comes from a leaked memo issued to some Apple Support employees. The models in question first went on sale in May 2011 and were sold until October 2012. The program only affects 27-inch iMacs with 3.1GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 or 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processors. Those models include Sandy Bridge processors and Thunderbolt ports and, according to Apple, a AMD Radeon HD 6970M card that could fail.

Apple running Mac Pro teaser trailer in movie theaters
Beginning last night Apple has begun running Mac Pro teaser trailers in front of select films in cinemas across the country. According to MacRumors, those that have seen the trailer says it shows the "sleek black curves of the product from multiple angles." The trailer ends with the tag line "Fall 2013."

Smartwatch Galaxy Gear bei Samsung Unpacked

Apple Officially Launches Third-Party USB Charger Takeback Program in 30 Countries
With Apple's USB Power Adapter Takeback Program officially launching yesterday, the company has now posted prices for additional participating regions, boosting the number of countries where consumers may trade-in a third-party USB charger for a discount on an official Apple charger (via 9to5Mac). Apple Entwickler: Auszeit des Developer Center am Samstag und neue App Store Kategorie
Für App-Entwickler gab es einige Neuigkeiten an diesem Wochenende: Heute Nacht wird das Developer Center für einige Stunden offline gehen, damit das Team Wartungsarbeiten durchführen kann. In den USA hat Apple damit begonnen, Werbevideos zum neuen Mac Pro in Kinos zu zeigen. Im Video, welches an den auf der WWDC 2013 gezeigten Trailer erinnert, wird am Ende das Erscheinungsdatum "Herbst 2013" genannt, auf der WWDC kündigte Apple das Gerät noch mit "Später in diesem Jahr" an. Es ist also wahrscheinlich, dass Apple den neuen Mac Pro zusammen mit der finalen Version von OS X Maveri
