Roku update allows iOS app to stream content to its boxes

Roku has added a new feature to its iOS app that will make the streaming service more attractive to users trying to pick between it and an Apple TV. Version 2.3 updates the Play on Roku service, giving users the ability to stream videos directly from an iOS device to their television. Play on Roku debuted last September and allowed users to stream pictures and music from their tablet and smartphone to their TV set, but was sorely lacking video support. Psyclops: Alien-Shooter für Google Glass (Video)

Mit Google Glass kann man nicht nur Fotos, sondern - und das dürfte für weniger Diskussionen sorgen - auch Aliens schießen. Entwickler Sean McCracken arbeitet zurzeit an einem Shooter, in welchem die Erde von Raumschiffen attackiert wird, die wir mit der Datenbrille außer Gefecht setzen sollen. McCracken beschreibt das Game selbst als einen Mix von 3D Space Invaders mit Missile Command. Drei Wochen nach dem Hack ist das Apple Developer Center nun wieder vollständig online. Apple informierte die Entwickler darüber in einer E-Mail. Alle Dienste des Entwicklerprogramms seien wieder online, schreibt Apple in einer E-Mail an registrierte Entwickler. Für den Ausfall und die damit verbundenen Schwierigkeiten bei der App-Entwicklung entschuldigte sich der Anbieter aus Cupertino. Als Ausgleich für den Ausfall erhalten alle Entwickler einen Monat gratis. Am 18. Juli war die Developer-Website plötzlich offline. Dollar Store Accessories: the iPhone Stylus

Today's Dollar Store accessory find is a stylus-slash-pen that, according to the rather prominent advertising on the box is "compatible with cell phones, tablets". It is neither a great pen nor a great stylus, but (and this is important, given the one dollar price point) it is a good one of both. I was surprised that this particular model has a rather nice grip area for the pen and how well the stylus, which is located in the "eraser" area, worked. You twist the bottom to open the pen, which in the case of this unit had a nice satisfying click. AT&T Cuts Pricing on 'AT&T Next' Smartphone Upgrade Program, iPhone Now $1/Year Cheaper Than Verizon [iOS Blog]

Following a strong backlash after the introduction of its AT&T Next smartphone upgrade program, AT&T has cut pricing on a number of devices in the program, including the iPhone.
