OneNote for iOS gets an overhaul

Microsoft has announced a complete overhaul of the mobile version of its OneNote note-taking software. The updated version is available for iOS and Android the service features a new look and increased functionality. The most important new feature is the increased consistency in the editing experience across different platforms, meaning text, table, and layout formatting will be the same across different devices. UK: Apple hat 2012 keine Unternehmenssteuer gezahlt

The cat-and-mouse-game between Apple and jailbreakers continues, with the latest victory happening before the public battle has even technically begun. Appeals court breaks up authors class in Google book scanning suit

The Second US Circuit Court of Appeals in New York finally ruled today that the class formed by The Authors Guild against the Google book scanning program was inappropriately certified by Judge Denny Chin, the judge overseeing the case. ifoAppleStore is reporting that at least one Apple retail store has taken to redesigning its product shelving. According to insiders, the Corte Madera (N. Calif.) store was renovated over several nights earlier this month, replacing its original shelving with a new model that has no vertical dividers. The change was apparently done for aesthetic reasons, and because the new design no longer needs the dividers for structural support. Apple's French offices raided by competition authorities

Apple's French headquarters was raided recently. Over a 24 hour period, French competition authorities entered Apple's offices and went through documents involving Apple and the distributors it works with, looking for some sign of impropriety. The raid was reportedly brought on by a French company called eBizcuss, which went to the French authorities to complain that Apple (whose products eBizcuss sells exclusively) was holding back stock for its own stores rather than sharing new products with distributors. eBizcuss filed a complaint, and that led to the investigation.

Gemäss einem Bericht des «Wall Street Journal» hat Apple bereits Anfang Juni ein Deal mit dem taiwanesischen Halbleiterhersteller TSMC abgeschlossen. Demnach sollen die Prozessoren für die iOS-Geräte ab dem Jahr 2014 auch von TSMC produziert werden. Trotz des Einbezugs von TSMC bei der Prozessor-Herstellung wird Samsung zumindest im Jahr 2014 noch den grössten Teil der Prozessor-Fertigung für Apple übernehmen. Wie sich die Auftragslage in den Jahren danach entwickeln wird, ist noch unklar. In den vergangenen Monaten soll der Wechsel zu TSMC gemäss dem «Wall Street Journal» verzögert worden sein. Erneuter Kursverlust bei Apple Aktie — mögliche Gründe

Seit einem Monat ist der Aktien-Kurs von Apple wieder im stetigen Sinkflug begriffen. Besonders die letzten beiden Wochen setzten dem Wertpapier des iPhone-Herstellers wieder zu. Der französische Blog «Nowhereelse» will aus einem Zulieferbetrieb von Apple neue Skizzen zum Design der nächsten iPad-Generation erhalten haben. Gemäss diesen Skizzen wird das iPad der fünften Generation um rund 15 Prozent dünner sein als das iPad 4. Die Skizzen lassen zudem darauf schliessen, dass das iPad 5 etwas kleiner sein wird als das iPad 4. Das iPad der fünften Generation ist angeblich 232 mm hoch und 178.5 mm breit. Im Gegensatz hierzu ist das iPad der vierten Generation 241.3 mm hoch und 185.8 mm breit. Bloomberg: Nokia will buy Siemens' share of joint venture for less than $2.6b
