iOS 27 beta 2 includes Write with Siri, the new version of Apple Intelligence writing tools
iOS 27 beta 2 includes our first look at the new Write with Siri features, which replace the standalone Writings Tools feature introduced as part of the first wave of the iOS 18 Apple Intelligence rollout.
When editing text, the keyboard now prompts the user to write with Siri. This allows you to ask Siri using a natural language request to generate new text, proofread something you already wrote, rewrite a document into another style, and more.

iOS 27 Beta 2 Adds Inline Replies to iPhone-to-Android RCS Chats
With the second beta of iOS 27, Apple added support for replying to a specific message in an RCS conversation with an Android user.
You can now long press on a message to get to the option to reply, and it works the same way that it does with iMessage.
Apple added support for RCS in iOS 18, and has been improving it since then. iOS 26.5 added encryption for RCS messages sent between iPhone and Android users, and now more of the RCS features are being implemented.
For RCS reply threading to work properly, both the sender and the recipient need to have a smartphone and carrier that supports RCS.
iOS 27 is limited to developers currently, but it will be available to the public when Apple releases a public beta in July. Bloomberg: Welche Neuerungen Apple 2026 und 2027 präsentiert
Apple schob die Vorstellung zahlreicher Produkte auf, da diese auf die neue Siri-Generation und neue Apple-Intelligence-Funktionen angewiesen sind. Da Siri AI nun aber im Herbst für alle Kunden (und hoffentlich ohne große Probleme) erscheint, steht beispielsweise einer Vorstellung des lang in der Gerüchteküche gehandelten HomePods mit Bildschirm nichts mehr im Weg. Apple Wallet’s Digital ID feature could potentially have a major new use case soon
Last year, Apple debuted Digital ID on iPhone, allowing users to use their US passport as identification in Apple Wallet. Apple’s been rolling out drivers licenses in Wallet slowly over the past few years, but that’s on a state-by-state basis. Digital ID is universal, allowing anyone with a passport to use it.
Of course, you can use it at TSA checkpoints in airports – but Apple had a bigger scope in mind: digital age and identity verification. While not yet confirmed, it’s possible that we could see a first major implementation of this quite soon, in Claude.
