Chromium OS gets ported to Raspberry Pi

Hexxeh has already proven his love for Chromium OS and the Raspberry Pi, obviously the next step was for the hacker to combine his passions into one project. Facebook moves away from Credits, implements subscriptions

Facebook is giving up on its Credits system and moving to local currencies, the social network has announced. The change is an effort to make payments simpler for end users. Windows 8 in-app advertisements get their own preview

Microsoft's own advertising blog (yes, it exists) has revealed how its going to frame ads inside incoming Metro-themed apps. While announcing partnerships with six different ad design teams, Microsoft threw up an example, above, that ties together a Seattle Sounders FC app with a panel showing off a pair of Adidas' latest Predator cleats. Retina MacBook Pro supports four simultaneous displays

The Retina MacBook Pro is capable of displaying images on up to four screens at once, notes Other World Computing. The upgrade vendor has produced a photo to demonstrate. Samsung Galaxy S III is hot: bursts into flames and melts through its own casing

It doesn't look good. This Galaxy S III apparently malfunctioned while in an in-car holster, causing some substantial melting and burn marks across the lower half of the device. iCloud users experience Wednesday outage

iCloud services are currently being seriously disrupted for some users. On Apple's official status page, the company simply states that as of 10:45 Pacific time, "Users may be unable to access iCloud services." Kein Upgrade auf Windows Phone 8, Windows Phone 7.8 soll die Lücke füllen

Filed under: Windows Phone Microsoft hat mit Windows Phone 8 die Codebasis so komplett und umfassend umgebaut, dass die aktuell mit Windows Phone 7.5 aka Mango laufende Hardware (sprich alle aktuell auf dem Markt befindlichen Windows Phone-Handys) nicht mehr unterstützt wird. Windows Phone 7.8 soll die Lücke füllen und zumindest ein paar der neuen Features, die nicht die Hardware betreffen wie zum Beispiel den Start Screen auf die "alten" WP-Phones bringen. Samsung wins Dutch ruling versus Apple over 3G technology

Samsung has won a legal victory against Apple through the Netherlands' Hague District Court, according to The Verge. Apple is said to have violated patent EP1188269, one relating to 3G networking. Because the patent is classified as a FRAND (fair, reasonable, and non-discriminatory licensing) item, Samsung is not entitled to any sales or import bans; the court has stated, however, that Apple owes the company compensation.

iTry – 4 Wochen nur mit Apple-Produkten arbeiten!

Was habt ihr gemeckert, was wurde ich verflucht. Ich habe mit meinem Artikel “iOS 6 vs. Android 4.0” ungewollt die Gemüter erhitzt und mich auf ein dünnes Eis begeben. GM to add Siri "Eyes Free" to Chevy Sonic, Spark

Apple has announced that Siri will integrate with certain auto voice control systems once iOS 6 is released. The "Eyes Free" system, as Apple calls it, allows Siri to be activated with a button mounted in the steering wheel. Now, GM has announced that the Chevrolet Sonic and the 2013 Spark will support the feature. The auto manufacturer hasn't provided much detail beyond the initial announcement, but expect more details "within the next 12 months."

Trend Micro has published information on a new cybercrime tool that automates bank fraud. The new method, called the Automatic Transfer System is inserted into a user's system with either the SpyEye or ZeuS Windows-specific malware and automatically steals user information, doesn't use pop-ups, and covers up traces of illegal transfers as it steals. No US banks have been affected by the attack method yet, with German, English, and Italian banks have been the primary targets. IGG updates iBank to 4.5, preps new iPad-only version

SeaOrbiter to begin construction by year's end, project price tag clocks in at $52.7 million

If you've ever spent time watching Iron Chef or other cooking shows, odds are you've heard of the term sous vide and know the wonders of cooking with immersion circulators. For those not in the know, an immersion circulator cooks food in a water bath at a precise (to the degree) temperature to ensure perfect doneness of dishes. Nomiku's an immersion circulator that clips onto any pot of water, giving home cooks the ability to sous vide to their heart's content at temperatures up to 100 degrees Celsius. The device is a machined aluminum tube and heat sink, with a 1.3-inch touchscreen OLED display on top surrounded by a plastic knob.
