ITC bans Motorola mobile devices for infringing Microsoft patent
At the end of last year, an Administrative Law Judge issued an initial ruling that Motorola's mobile devices infringe a bit of Microsoft's IP. Now, the Commission has affirmed that decision and issued an exclusion order to ban Moto's offending devices from importation into the US. Rumor: Apple in talks to build Russian R&D facility

Sprint introduces My Wireless STS service to assist folks with speech disabilities

Gogo and AeroSat get friendly on Ku-band, bring international in-flight WiFi closer
Gogo has a virtual lock on in-flight WiFi for the US, but most of us forget that everything goes dark the moment you decide to cross the border. Apple allegedly interested in Russian R&D facility
Apple is one of several parties in talks with Russia's Skolkovo technology park about possible research and development facilities there, according to local publication Izvestia. Other interested companies are said to include Google and Facebook; agreements are reportedly already in place for firms such as Microsoft, IBM, General Electric, and Cisco. Skolkovo's organizers are said to be aiming at making the park a Russian equivalent of Silicon Valley.

Apple's iTunes Festival scheduled for September
Apple has announced some details on the 2012 iTunes Festival in London. This 30-day music event will take place at The Roundhouse and feature free performances by Usher, Emeli Sandé, Jack White, Norah Jones and One Direction among others.
Tickets will be distributed via lottery, and fans in the UK, Ireland, France, Germany and the Netherlands can vie for a seat. Apple will stream performances to computers running iTunes and iPhones, iPod touches and iPads with the iTunes Festival app installed. The fun starts on September 1 and runs for the whole month.

New lawsuit accuses Apple of botching MobileMe transition
A new class action lawsuit has been filed against Apple in California, accusing the company of "unfair, unlawful, deceptive, and misleading practices" in promoting iCloud, according to AppleInsider. Brainshark has announced the launch of an update for its free iPad app, SlideShark, which includes tools for viewing, sharing, and tracking PowerPoint presentations. iTunes Festival 2012 to run 30 days in September
Apple has announced details of the 2012 iTunes Festival, to be held at the Roundhouse in London, England. The event will consist of 30 nights of free concerts by over 60 artists, including the likes of Jack White, Norah Jones, and Usher; only a handful of artists have been announced so far. For 2012, the festival has been moved from July to September.

Facebook IPO: NASDAQ-Glocke von Facebook gehackt
Immerhin. Mark Zuckerberg scheint seine Freude über Hacks nicht verloren zu haben. Seine Crew hatte ihm vorgeschlagen, doch aus der NASDAQ-Glocke automatisch eine Facebook-Aktion zu schicken, dafür bräuchte man sie doch nur hacken. Gesagt getan, schon war das Ding aufgeschraubt und heute bei der Anmeldung von Facebook im NASDAQ gab ein einen Eintrag in Zuckerbergs Timeline. Gut, hätte irgendwer in der Firma auch faken können, aber dann wäre ja der ganze Spass dahin. DropKey app encrypts Mac files, free through Sunday
WellRed Apps launched its DropKey file encryption app for Mac last month, but realized that there's one issue with gaining widespread acceptance -- it takes two to tango, and it takes two copies of DropKey (one each for sender and recipient) to send files securely. The company had been giving away one free license with each purchase of DropKey, but is going all-out through Sunday by making the app completely free.

iRig Mix: DJ-Mixer für iOS fördert impromtu Blockparty-Superstar-DJs

Endlich mal Hardware für iOS-DJs, die annehmbar aussieht. Der kleine Mixer iRig Mix lässt sich mit zwei iPads, iPhones oder iPod Touch wie ein regulärer DJ-Mixer verwenden, und gibt einem gleich vier APPs obendrauf (DJ Rig, AmpliTube, VocaLive und GrooveMaker), kann aber auch mit nur einem davon laufen, da er dann die ineinander zu mischen Tracks auf Mono schaltet. Obendrein kann man jegliche andere Audioquelle anschliessen und via X-Sync sogar noch auf einem iOS Gerät das Tempo automatisch matchen. Natürlich ist auch der Einsatz eines iOS-Kistchens im Liveact mit vorgesehen. Für 99 Dollar kann man sich nicht beschweren. Und mit Batterien läuft es auch noch.

Crystal White PS Vita landing in Hong Kong June 28th, overpriced import shops two days later
It was bound to happen eventually, every other gadget does it. After debuting in a serious black sheen, the PS Vita is now getting a stylish white shell as well. Sadly, the shiny new pale version will only be available in Hong Kong at first, starting June 28th. RIM, Motorola submit compromise nano-SIM design
RIM and Motorola have submitted a new, compromise nano-SIM design based on a concept from Apple, reports say. The new design has the same outline and contacts as Apple's proposal, but with a notch on one side making space for what RIM calls a "push-push" mechanism; pushing in the card once secures it, it pushing it in again pops it out. Apple's idea may have been less practical, requiring a tray to hold a card steady.

Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter for the Facebook-inspired The Social Network, is working on an adaptation of the Steve Jobs biography by Walter Isaacson. To help him in this quest, Sorkin has hired Steve Wozniak as a technical advisor, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune. Das hier ist nicht der erste Versuch, einen Roboter Bälle jonglieren zu lassen, aber einer der souveränsten, die man bislang sichten konnte. Zwar kann er es mit dem beidhändigen, menschlichen Zirkusprofi nicht aufnehmen, immerhin sehen seine Wurfbewegungen schon sehr geschmeidig aus. Sony helps you 'personalize' your Xperia further, announces case maker partnerships
Despite there being so many smartphones nowadays, finding cases for certain handsets can be tricky -- unless you're toting the likes of an iPhone or the latest Android flagship device, that is. Laut dem Korea Economic Daily kann Samsung satte 9 Millionen Vorbestellungen für ihr neues Galaxy S III einsammeln, und noch bevor es erschienen ist, so schon mal den 20 Millionen die sie im ersten Monat vom SII umgesetzt haben auf halbem Weg hinterherkommen. Users report iCloud accounts may have been compromised
A small number of users in the Apple Support Communities have reported that their iCloud e-mail accounts may have been compromised by spammers, even in cases where the user had a strong, randomized password. On the heels of similar offers from Target and Radio Shack, chains Best Buy, Sam's Club, and Sprint have succumbed to peer pressure. The Video Standards Council has become the UK's sole statutory video-games regulator, administering the PEGI rating system. The changes now mean age checking for the sale of any game rated PEGI 12, 16 or 18 would become enforceable under UK law. Previously, the system was in an advisory capacity and not legally enforceable, with PEGI games rated 15 or higher also being rated by the BBFC for content.

VIA unveils fanless, Eden X2-packing AMOS-3002, promises tiny dual-core PC in your car
VIA is planning to get some serious mileage out of its Eden X2 processor -- in the most literal sense possible. It's now producing the AMOS-3002, a Pico-ITX-sized PC intended for in-car infotainment and other situations where an embedded PC needs to have a little more juice for media tasks. The Eden X2 in question comes in a dual-core 1GHz flavor that's completely fanless, but it's fast enough to show 1080p video

iRig Mix out now, impresses with size and features
IK Multimedia's iRig Mix mixer has finally arrived in stores, and it's just as impressive now as it was back when we saw it in action at CES this year. The mixer is sturdy and impressively small, and it has hookups for two different sources, including two iOS devices or any other stereo input source, as well as an extra mic/instrument input. Those sounds can then be mixed together, balanced, or tweaked with EQ, and sent out to a headphone jack on the bottom, and a stereo RCA output on the top. In short, this is a great full-featured mixer for mixing together sounds from almost anywhere.

RIM patent application shines a light on unseen filth, might make forensics mobile
CSI: Waterloo? We're not sure how compelling that spin-off would be (inexplicable popularity of the David Caruso-headlined Miami version aside). So, you'll excuse us for scratching our collective tech head over this recently surfaced patent application filed by RIM in November of 2010. The claims of this bizarre USPTO doc describe an apparatus containing some form of a "display element" attached to a portable electronic device that would generate light on nearby objects, snap photographs and then display results indicating potential contamination. Drexler: Jobs wanted to build 'iCar' before his death
Before his death on October 5th, one of the things Apple co-founder Steve Jobs wanted to build was a so-called "iCar," according to company board member and J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler. "Look at the car industry; it's a tragedy in America," he said during a Fast Company conference this week. "Who is designing the cars? Steve's dream before he died was to design an iCar."
