iPhone 3G outsold all other US phones in the consumer space
The amazing 3rd quarter for the Apple iPhone keeps claiming victims of the competition. Today the NPD group is saying that even the once mighty Motorola Razr has fallen to the mighty iPhone.
Apple's iPhone 3G surpassed the top-ranked Motorola RAZR as the leading handset purchased by adult consumers* in the U.S. in the third quarter (Q3) of 2008. RAZR had been ranked by NPD as the top-selling consumer handset for the past 12 quarters.
The top handset models in rank order, based on unit sales in Q3, were as follows:

Costco selling iPhones for $150? Comes with 50 gallon drum of Wheat Chex?
Barron's today has analyst Trip Chowdhry (sounds like a 9to5mac writer or Sarah Palin child!) giving credence to the fact that Apple will indeed be slashing iPhone prices in 2009 and slumming out its retail sales points. And why not? Put that thing in as many hands as possible we say! Got to compete with the incumbents. Will we see T-Mobile (or CDMA Verizon/Sprint) anytime soon?

AT&T to charge iPhone users another $30 to tether and cap at 5Gb

Source : DailytechToshiba just broke a record by announcing a portable equipped with 3 video cards. The first is well-known for us since it is the itegrated NVidia gpu, the 9400M. But rather than add another card, Toshiba decided to associate two Geforce 9800 GTS in SLI.
Thus, the user will have the choice between the integrated video for work, and the SLI for playing games. Of course, this is only possible on a bulky machine, which is the case weighs nearly 4,5 kg and it is also a good thickness (equal to two Macbook Pro).

Google today launched the surprise addition of Gmail video chat to its webmail interface. Bei Orange, einem Teil der France Télécom, ist schon ab dem 13. November Weihnachten: Die Preise für das iPhone werden im Zusammenhang mit einer Promo-Aktion drastisch gesenkt. Then the old models of SanDisk's teensy-tiny Sansa Clip audio player won't satisfy you, but this week a new variant hits with a capacious 8GB of storage -- a plenty-fair amount for the $99 price, and downright triumphant for a clip-on. That kind of storage wouldn't make sense in a Shuffle-like device with no display for song browsing, of course, but it's welcome in the Clip 'cause it actually has such a screen (it's OLED, if you were wondering). Vodafone senkt erneut seine Umsatzprognose

Marke Eigenbau: Das MacBook Nano
Im Vorteil ist, wer sich zu helfen weiß: Während zahlreiche Apple-Fans noch immer vergebens auf ein Sub-Notebook ihres Lieblingsherstellers warten, nahm sich ein unbekannter Bastler der Sache an und baute es einfach selbst. Das "MacBook Nano" hat ein 10'' Display, basiert auf dem MSI U100 Netbook und hat sogar ein beleuchtetes Apple-Logo auf der Rückseite. iPhone großer Erfolg in der Schweiz
Das Schweizer Mobilfunkunternehmen Swisscom hat ein erfolgreiches Quartal hinter sich gebracht, meldet macprime. Das Unternehmen hat im vergangenen Quartal von Juli bis September mehr als 453.000 Mobiltelefone verkauft, was einen neuen Quartalsrekord darstellt. In den ersten beiden Monaten gingen allein 116.000 iPhones über die Ladentische, meldet macprime unter Berufung auf den Tagesanzeiger. Dies sind weniger Einheiten als im gleichen Zeitraum in Deutschland verkauft wurden, allerdings betont die Swisscom, dass die verkauften iPhones ein Zusatzvolumen im Ansatz darstellten. Mini-Beamer für iPod und iPhone
Mit dem Pico Projektor bringt Optoma im Dezember einen zu iPod und iPhone kompatiblen Videobeamer im Hosentaschenformat auf den deutschen Markt. Gerade mal 115 Gramm schwer projiziert der Mini-Projektor ein bis zu 1,5 Meter großes Bild. Der integrierte Akku mit bis zu zwei Stunden Laufzeit garantiert den portablen Einsatz, zum Nachladen ist ein gewöhnlicher USB-Anschluss erforderlich.

Rambus fordert US-Importverbot für Nvidia

Orange France rumored to sell iPhone for 99€
Orange France is rumored to be reducing its iPhone 3G prices to 100€ (~$125 USD) for the 8GB model and 130€ (~$165 USD) for the 16GB variant, according to a post on the French Mac enthusiast site MacBidouille. Die drei Sicherheitslücken betreffen die Verarbeitung von JPEG/TIFF-Bildern - durch Veränderung der Bilddaten können die Programme zum Absturz gebracht werden.
