Founder of WiFi mapping company acquired by Apple departs to lead Stanford startup accelerator

Back in 2013, Apple quietly acquired indoor smartphone locating company WiFiSlam for around $20 million. The company, founded by Joseph Huang, aimed to construct indoor mapping solutions using WiFi signals. According to TechCrunch, however, Huang has now departed Apple to take over the reigns as CEO of StartX, the startup accelerator that helped launch WiFiSlam in the first place. more…Filed under: Apple
