Apple has confirmed that it will begin making available a new module within ResearchKit that could further help medical researchers by allowing patients or study participants to optionally add genetic information from the personal genomics company to research. Depending on the number of participants that have available 23andMe genetic data and feel comfortable sharing that information, the addition could prove a valuable boon to medical investigations by helping to establish associations between some conditions or illnesses and genetic backgrounds or origins.
