Nielson to count Apple TV, other streaming device viewing statistics

Nielson has announced that it will start including streaming video statistics for devices like the Apple TV. The change comes after research from Nielson showed that although traditional TV audiences may be declining, the total number of customers viewing video content in one form or another has not changed. It will start by measuring what people are viewing on their computers, smartphones, and tablets, but is also gearing up to measure viewing habits on connected devices as well.
