Vending machines that can serve up nearly anything have been popular in Japan for years, and most US airports and some malls now have "mini-store" type vending machines that can offer items like electronics or pet supplies. Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has been renting iPads to students since 2013, but has now automated the process with a kiosk that offers up to 12 iPads available for rental to students.
