Apple's design guru Jony Ive watched his customised Rose Gold Earpods, Red Mac Pro, one-off Leica camera and more raise millions for the (RED) campaign for the Global Fund to fight against AIDs, tuberculosis and malaria, but who were the highest bidders? Before now, we were in the dark about who took home the items sold at the auction in November, but it now appears that Tony Fadell, the former Apple executive now know as the 'father of the iPod', is the mystery buyer who paid $977,000 (£602,529) for the red Mac Pro and $461,000 (£284,000) for the soid gold Apple EarPods.
