Autodesk's free software for converting 3D models to 2D vector cuts adds dowels of various shapes and dimensions (to help stack a sliced model), interface improvements, and an Export STL menu command that saves a .zip file containing one STL file for each slide plus one STL representing the entire sliced mesh.
