Philips opens up Hue LED bulbs to external developers

Philips has opened up access to its mobile-controllable LED lights for developers to use. Access to a new API will allow external developers to control the Hue LED lighting system through their own apps and web services, potentially allowing customers to control the color-changing light bulbs through other avenues than Philips' official apps and control system.
