Google Maps said to drive 29 percent iOS 6 adoption spike

Google Maps recent arrival on iOS 6 may have led to a significant number of users upgrading to that version of iOS. This according to ad network MoPub, which saw iOS 6 adoption jump 29 percent in the five days following the release of the new version of Google Maps. The spike in iOS 6 upgrades -- even after the version hit 60 percent adoption a week after its release -- seems to indicate pent up demand for Google's mapping solution in light of the well-publicized troubles of Apple's Maps app.
