Apple Australia asked to pay $28.5 million in back taxes

The Australian government is asking the local division of Apple to pay $28.5 million in back taxes, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. The change raises Apple's Australian bill for the 2011 fiscal year to $94.7 million. That, however, represents just a fraction of the $4.9 billion in revenue the company pulled in from the country.
