A study by Atlanta's Emory University shows that the iPhone 3G is rated as a better opthamology picture display that conventional PC workstations. The testing focused on time-critical scenarios like a hospital emergency room. An assortment of 350 abnormal images of the eye were used, and the doctors queried assigned higher ratings to usage of the four-year-old iPhone 3G than a PC with a 19-inch display. The researchers do point out that the study is not suggesting that an iPhone should take the place of existing opthamology tools, but that the phone should have a place in emergency departments
