Square reports volume up 25 percent, now at $5B per year

While mobile payments are increasing generally, with new systems for smartphone users on the increase, Square has reported a remarkable 25 percent increase in payment volume since just last month. The company is now processing transactions at an estimated annual rate of $5 billion per year, up from $4 billion in March. In addition to the convenience of card processing with mobile devices, Square credits its fast processing times as part of its popularity.
