AT&T drops appeal on iPhone user's $850 court win

AT&T chose Friday to drop its appeal of an $850 small claims court win over the definition of unlimited data. Following plaintiff Matthew Spaccarelli's rejection of a settlement, the carrier decided that it would both pay the awarded $850 and cover $85 in court costs. AT&T didn't give a reason as to why it declined to contest the complaint, although the increasing media attention may have compounded the situation.
