GreenLight Music aims to be licensing giant for songs

Better known for its photo service, Corbis has branched out into audio through GreenLight Music. The new site lets companies and individuals pay for rights to songs for commercial purposes, ranging from public presentations and videos to apps. Much as with the stock photography, songs can be tagged and searched based on their subject or even their mood to help find the right sound.
