Netflix to get Weinstein Company movies before cable

Netflix scored an important multi-year deal with The Weinstein Company that could change the priorities of movie viewing. The deal gives streaming access to a range of movies and documentaries that will preempt conventional pay TV launches. Current Oscars frontrunner The Artist will be the only pay TV option, Netflix said, ousting pay-per-view cable and other sources.
