Intel drops outlook by $1b over drive shortage effect on PCs
Intel on Monday showed the full extent of hard drive shortages by lowering its outlook for the fall. It now expects to make $1 billion less in revenue than before, at $13.7 billion, as companies are unable to ship PCs without the drives they need. The holiday season would still see sales up versus the summer, Intel said, but it expected problems up to the spring.
