The self-checkout system now in place at US Apple Stores is working out well, in spite of concerns, according to a CNBC source described as "familiar with Apple's retail operation." Called EasyPay, the technology lets users of the official Apple Store app scan some accessories and buy them without having to talk to an Apple clerk. Even prior to its launch it was worried that the system might provide a cloak for shoplifters.
