iPhone 4S users complain of random call, data drops

Some iPhone 4S owners are suffering from randomly vanishing call and data service, according to persistent complaints. The earliest complaints date back to the device's launch, but new ones continue to reach Apple's support forums. A phone suffering from the flaw in question will suddenly find functions like calling, texting, and/or 3G Internet non-functional, even though reported signal strength may be fine.
