Apple said settling on dual-bar LED for iPad 3 display

Apple's choice for iPad 3 display technology may have narrowed down, a follow-up rumor claimed Monday. Having had the choice between either a single LED backlight with two chips or two entirely separate LED lights, it's now deemed "likely" by Digitimes sources to pick the two-light option. Backlight designers have reportedly solved the battery life and heat issues from having the second light bar inside.
