No public stream being opened for Oct. 4th iPhone event

There will be no public webcast of Tuesday's iPhone event, Apple PR representatives have confirmed. Apple has not always offered live streams for product presentations, but an equivalent one in September 2010 was publicly broadcast. Tomorrow's event is scheduled to start at 10AM Pacific time, or 1PM Eastern. The only opening for outside viewers is a private TV feed being arranged for European journalists, and even then the signal is being directed solely to the UK.
