Part suppliers in Taiwan said Wednesday that Apple was willing to allow price hikes if it meant guaranteeing supply for the iPad and iPhone. The company would agree to extra if it meant smoothing out deliveries and guaranteeing stock. With 40 million iPads still believed by Digitimes to be shipping this year, Apple would be using as much as 60 percent of all touchscreen panel supply, putting strain on suppliers that might already be affected by the Japanese earthquake.
