Android was still increasing its US market share in January but wasn't necessarily helping out its partners, comScore found in a new study. Google overtook RIM for smartphone share for the first time and reached a new high of 31.2 percent, up from 28.7 percent in December as the BlackBerry collapsed to 30.4 percent. Apple was still in third place and had gained share since October but was virtually flat.
