Tapulous, the maker of the Tap Tap Revenge franchise of iPhone and iPod Touch games, tells Business Insider's Dan Frommer that downloads of the popular game are up 100 percent over last year. The latest edition, Tap Tap Revenge 4, was just released a week ago, and saw peaks over Christmas of over 45,000 copies per hour. The free app relies on advertising and in-app sales of additional songs as its business model, which has been so successful the company was acquired by Disney this past July.
