New iPhone, iPod codenames surface in code

A new set of clues to Apple's future handhelds have been revealed today through a search of recent code. The iPhone 3.2 SDK used to write for the iPad includes references in the simulator's library to N89, a previously unknown device. Reportedly "trustworthy" contacts for Engadget claim the number is the codename for the next iPhone, just as the M68, N82 and N88 were the respective codenames for the original iPhone, the iPhone 3G and the 3GS.
