NVIDIA: More About Fermi While Waiting for It

According to the last tidbits, the NVIDIA Fermi-based graphic card should be entitled GeForce GF100 and be available in March. If NVIDIA did not demo any unit so far it keeps communicating about it. At the end of the CES, NVIDIA invited some journalists to talk about GPGPU and performance of the future GPU in 3D rendering. This is the first time that NVIDIA communicate about the graphic performance of the Fermi as it mostly concentrate so far on the crushing power of Fermi. This is probably to stick back to one of the main purchasing driving force today, games on computer, even though Apple did not really understand it so far, preferring games on iPhone and equipping last iMac with GPU either from the previous generation or with only 2 months to go before the release of new GPU models. According to figures, the GF 100 looks promising, however, one will have to wait for the first independent tests. Let's hope that Snow Leopard and its Open CL will be able to benefit from Fermi, implying that Apple will work
