PlusTek Technology has expanded its line of OpticFilm USB-attached scanners with the release of the OpticFilm 7600i Ai and 7600i SE. Both new scanners are designed to convert 35mm film and slides into digital images, at resolutions up to 7200dpi. Each scanner in the OpticFilm series uses an LED-based illumination system, which is claimed to provide improved consistency while using up to 30 percent less power. The devices also integrate a Multiple Exposure feature for increasing the effective dynamic range of images.
