Chinese trouble: iPhone part supply hit by strike action

If you’re looking to purchase a new iPhone, there’s a chance that strike action in China may cause a supply hiccup, as it seems workers at a supplier delivering touchscreens for use on the iPhone have gone out on strike. Workers in Chinese city, Suzhou, went on strike on January 15 according to local reports citing statements as reported by Bloomberg. Even if we don’t know how many iPhones Apple is selling, the people on the production lines creating components for the device have a pretty good idea - and 2,000 workers at the touchscreen production plant want a bonus for their productivity. Workers gathered in protest, damaging vehicles and facilities on strength of rumours the factory would not pay a promised bonus for 2009. The plant belongs to Taiwa
